Somewhere in the 14's - I'll go 14.6 degrees. A warmer than normal month but not excessively so. Average rainfall in the north, perhaps a drier than normal month in the south but not especially so - small chance of a wetter than normal month..

It could be quite a traditional September with some warm days early on especially in the south, but generally turning cooler everywhere by mid month with the jet tracking ever more southerly. Could be a notably cool wet unsettled end which might enable a lower mean to be returned.

There has been a tendency for warmer than normal Septembers coming on the back of average to warmer than normal Augusts rather on the back of cooler than normal Augusts.  I don't know the last time a cool August was followed by a warmer than average September? So on this premise expect at least an average Sept if not more likely a warmer than normal September.

Yes, although that was skewed somewhat by a ridiculously hot late September.

Looking like a warm first half of September, though it would take something exceptional to challenge 2006 and 1729 so will plump for 15.4

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
