Unfortunately sunshine very limited/hazy despite brightening up here, as soon as this misty low cloud started burning off the mid-high level stuff had already arrived, pleasant enough though at 19.0c.

The good thing with today's chart's is that there's no sign of any chilly weather, ECM being the best of the bunch with plenty of warmth, I feel we may be stuck in this smoggy misty limbo land for a while though, Friday & Saturday on paper look like warm, potentially sunny days but after today and yesterday it's certainly questionable.

Thick fog an hour ago has turned into completely unforecast quite heavy rain. Where on earth has this come from?

looks horrendous, repeat of last year, 25 Sept, child of nadine '12

A weak front

If this is a weak front I'd have hated to have seen an active one! Absolutely caning it down.

Yes it's a weak front they can still produce locally heavy rain.

The rain generally stayed north of here this morning though very bleak and drizzly, very hazy sunshine through the mist at the moment, visibility is still rather poor, temp at 16c but very humid so feels more like 20!

Decent enough charts this morning again, of course the reality may well be mist, mist, mist but there's at least the hope of some warm days when the sun comes out. Friday & the weekend potential very nice if the north sea gloom can contain itself for once.

Just about stopped now, but it was heavy for an hour or two. Certainly didn't seem like a weak front, I've seen active depressions produce less rain than that. More like a squall line actually, except they tend to move through very quickly and this lingered for hours.

Completely, utterly unforecast yet some places in NW Mids/N Wales must have had 25mm+ looking at the radar- how did the M O etc miss it altogether?

GFS had shown it for a few runs but slightly further north than it ended up, and much weaker to, no mention on the BBC forecast's last night, just a few scattered showers.

Would be nice if we got that convective warm weather next week, I remember October 2006 produced some lively downpours and an early morning thunderstorm from a similar set up.

And EDIT: The sun dissapeared as soon as I said it was breaking through, surprise surprise

Another case of the Telford curse in the end today, Monday it was warm sunshine to the west of here, yesterday to the south and east and again today to the south and east.

Still the signals for a pleasant Friday & weekend at least on the 12z, tomorrow another icky grotty day though, and much cooler to!

It did miss me mostly thankfully, more to the NW of here, but another shockingly wet 25th Sept for NW areas/Wales like last year

Seems to have been a convergence trough or similar, showers were modelled for today but nothing like the inch that fell in parts of Snowdonia, although officially the wettest in the region was Aberdaron with just 7mm. Shawbury has just 2mm

Foggy all day here again today. It makes Telford Gloom look pleasant especially when its been foggy here pretty much non stop since Friday! Lol.

However, Falmouth looks to be best placed for any potential thundery activity Fri/Sat except the Channel Islands. :)

Bit of a different feel this morning, the weather's still the same (grey) but much drier, fresher air at 11.4c with good visibility and no mist in sight!

Still looks like a generally decent Friday & weekend on the charts around 18/19c with good spells of sunshine with that muggy, misty air returning on Monday but hopefully with some downpours in it this time!

Slowly brightening up from the south again now but unfortunately the statro murk managed to strike yet again this afternoon, really dark and grim the past 2.5 hours especially, always just looks like sheets of cirrus on satellite but is actually this:

Luckily gorgeous warm sunshine has returned from the south and almost back up to 18c now, shame 1-4pm stopped it from what could of been a perfect day!, hopefully the mid-high level stuff from the showers will stay SW of us all weekend giving another decent one!

Finally brightened up now after thick fog to start the day, overnight low of 9.7c but in typical Telford form it seems that cloud from the excitement down south is encroaching already.
