never really seemed to get light today  none stop rain for the majority of the day autumn certainly as arrived

Had the house light's on all day here... Had no choice, Those "Grey leaded skies" made it a very dark autumnal day. Oh yes wet and cold as well !

We had about two minutes of sunshine here at one point, it soon disappeared though! And as you say, more of the wet stuff incoming as well.....

Weird to see a major low pressure spinning in from the east and then just sitting directly over the region.

Hopefully a sign of the jet stream moving south again!

This is where living in the internet age, with all the satellite imagery which is now available to us within a few clicks, is so beneficial for ordinary folk such as ourselves.

Localised flooding in places too - with those kind of temps already, you only need to add a little elevation and the first sleety bits can't be too far away. Going to stick my neck out re Winter prediction? Early quite sharp cold snap with snow in places then more mobile milder set up taking control again - sandwiched between yet more cold, frosty then snow in places away from the tops of hills only Posted Image

You heard it here first lol...

Who needs Isobel Lang or Helen Willetts when we have our own in-house weather forecasting expert, eh? Posted Image

With a bit of luck some of us might actually see a bit of sunshine before the end of the day, although the outlook for tomorrow still sounds decidedly bleurgh.

LOL.Complete guess add a bit of gut feeling Bish, sooner or later it should bode true..law of averages and all that Posted Image

Tomorrows wet weather is already ganging up to the far SW..the 'bleurgh' followed by a potentially much brighter and milder interlude.

Thursday showery, Friday wet, wet, wet - there's a song in their somewhere.

Talking of Wet wet wet, Here in Solihull we've had 50.1mm since Saturday and with friday looking very wet ! not bad totals over the seven days,

At least the old gardens are doing well Posted Image

The weather was extraordinary today. I had to pop into Solihull at lunchtime (to buy boxes of chocolates for lots of nurses, but that a whole different story!) it was like the end of the world had arrived, the rain was absolutely torrential and - predictably - I got drenched very quickly.

And yet, barely an hour later, we had clear blue skies with not a cloud in sight. An amazing turnaround for such a short space of time, even for this time of year.

Once again on the supposedly 'nice' day of the week it's ended up overcast with some fairly heavy showers

Lot's of rain on the radar at the moment, although it seems to be keeping well to the west of most of the region.

Some of the charts are starting to hint at a potentially stormy end to October, although still a long way to go.

Pleasant day so far here, sun was out for awhile - but looking westward some very dark clouds approaching, looks like it's going to rain shortly.

In true Telford form NOTHING here  literally 5 spots of rain, as per usual split in two sections with the heavy stuff staying north and south.

Huge deluge here at around 16:30 which lasted for about twenty minutes, shortly followed by bright sunshine and a spectacular rainbow Posted Image

I saw a spectacular rainbow yesterday too, after the downpour passed. It was a gorgeous high bow. :) So far today, grey and rather windy, although not chilly at all.
