Anyone know what time things are due to kick off tonight? And what direction to look in?

There isn't a set time but direction wise approximately North East I believe Matt. After 11pm is a good time to start looking though.

For anyone with an android phone I can recommend the free Google Sky Map app.

Yep, they say have as much of the north-eastern sky visible as possible. And around midnight onwards is when you're likely to see the most meteors.

Hope you lovely people have a good display tonight, is anybody going to attempt some photos?

I'm off to bed, too many late nights, (was falling asleep at work today ha ha). ;-)

Seems incredible watching that circling the planet at over 17,000 mph.....or am I reading that wrong ?

To think.....half an hour or so ago, that thing was over this country....now it's over Australia. Gob-smacking really.

Here are the six people who are currently over 260 miles above us, travelling at more than 17,000mph!

Heavens above also show details of timings for ISS, as well as other things up there.

I'm sure I just saw one. I've got very dark skies as my garden backs onto a nature reserve where the aerodrome used to be. No lights for miles.

Which direction was it moving?

So, the amazing ISS seen. Just enough time now to put the rubbish & recycling out for tomorrow, make a cup of tea, and take it into the back garden for what will hopefully be this evening's second incredible display of light in the sky. Posted Image

Thank goodness for clear skies! Posted Image

Was just thinking to myself, I wonder what the meteor shower looks like from the ISS??? No street lights up there! But, equally, wouldn't there be light on the horizon from the rising sun in the east to cancel that benefit out?

*Just thinking aloud really.*
