Hi all,

Had a pretty rotten week health-wise, but missed you all too much.

So sorry to hear about your cat CS. My Max is 18 now.

Been a pleasant week here. Cooler, but still warm. My ideal weather Posted Image

Evening all,

No problems with wasps so far this year - barely seen one! (can now guarentee a train carriage tomorrow trapped with one!)

Jan, good to see you back posting as I was going to PM you to check you were ok x

I feel sorry for the wasps. If you look into their life cycle, at the beginning of the year they catch lots of insects and feed these to the young larvae in the nest. In return the larvae secrete a sugary solution which fuels the adults flight. As the summer comes to an end the queen stops laying eggs and as a consequence there are fewer and fewer larvae in the nest and the adult worker wasps run out of their reward sugar. That is why they pester anything which can replace this craving!

They still Tut me off though! Lol

Yes, elderly animals still have a desire for life's pleasures. Posted Image

Annoying seeing the advice, on the news earlier today, that over 65's need to watch their drinking habits. Posted Image We (not that I'm near 65 yet, but the point is pertinentPosted Image ) need to take official advice; we'll be immortal!Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Hmm chemistry degree, pet lion. I could still become an evil villain hellbent on world domination.

But the local Indian still wouldn't give me a discount so what's the point Posted Image

Morning everyone,

It's a cloudy morning although I think it's showing signs of the cloud breaking, much warmer this morning at 16.8c compared to yesterday although I think tonight will be colder.  No rain here as it apears to have moved around us, hopefully next week won't be too bad for my holiday.

Morning all,

The rain woke me up around 5.45am this morning - which is probably just as well as I discovered I had forgot to set the alarm to get up for work last night!

Cloudy currently - but not feeling cold at all.

But it will still be wet under foot (or blanket in your case Lottie)

Morning. Sad day at my household as one of our cats passed away last night. So it's time to dig out the shovel and bury her. She had a good innings and lived to 18 years of age.The suns out today which is an improvement on the constant mid/high level cloud of yesterday

Hope your feeling ok, always hard to lose a pet :(

Morning folks,

I'm another one to join the "woken up by rain this morning" club. Nothing spectacular, but it gave the ground a soaking. (And, needless to say, it has brought the slugs out. Food for the slow-worm family that lives in my compostabin maybe?!)

Currently a slightly-cooler-than-we've-become-accustomed-to 16.7°, and some pretty leaden skies. Just starting to try and brighten as I'm typing this though.

Have a good Friday, all.

Lee

Morning Lee,

Was just going to say it's good for the garden, but you need to chase those pesky slugs off out of it first!
