Typically here we are too far south for the band which is moving from the Midlands into Lincolnshire and too far north for the band coming up from the SW - the only time MK gets a decent storm was while I was in Norfolk last weekend Posted Image

There you are you see - come to my home county for storms!Posted Image

But they were here while I was there and there when I was here.....*sulks*

Oh well I wouldn't have changed it, the seal watching and other stuff made up for it...I like Norfolk even if it is a bit flat !

Oops, misread your post - we used to be good for storms anyway.  In fact I once read somewhere that, per square mile of land, Norfolk had more lightning strikes than any other English county.  Anyway, flat?Posted Image Posted Image No flatter than MK - I've been through your neck of the woods!

..at least we have somewhere to go tobogganing when it snows Posted Image

Anyways it's clouded over here now and it's feeding time at the zoo so I best get on in case it rains Posted Image

I'm not really sure where I ought to post this. (And I've not been a member on here long enough to even consider starting a new topic!) I know it's not SE/EA related, but many in this thread seem to be storm fans. So I thought I'd post it here. Instead of in the convective thread, for instance. As that seems to be about current and future storm events. But happy to delete or move it if necessary.

A beefy Saturday afternoon thunderstorm in Brazil. And one of my favourite weather vids on YouTube:

Afternoon all. It's a bit of a mixed bag here today with a lot of cloud about and occasionaly some promising looking skies but none of natures fireworks so far. 23c making it the coldest day this month.....Posted ImagePosted Image .

I think I overdid the sherberts a bit last night so I only have a vague recollection of seeing lightning around midnight. The plus side of that was I probably saw double the amount of strikes than actually happened. It certainly caught me by suprise though. Earlier in the evening I was playing a slightly inebriated game of softball tennis out the front with the neighbours, and once or twice we thought the heavens were about to open. Thankfully the rain held off, but I must remember that diving full length to keep a ball in play is not wise on block paving.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Anvils in the sky ( Lee ), that's a superb video, thanks for sharing it.

Afternoon all,

A very pleasant day here weather wise - sunny (with a few clouds), and a current temperature of 23c.  In the words of Pop Larkin - perfick! Posted Image

This has got to be one of my all time favourites this one. Chicago is renowned for its excellent storms, but this is on another level compared to most storms around the globe I'm sure. Imagine waking up to this! You'd think it was a battlefield

Way cooler and fresher feel to the day now, just back home after an afternoon in the next village with ma folks'

Doors and windows all open to let this "cleaner" air flush through the house.

Evening all. It's been a lovely day in Ippy. Very warm and sunny with some heavy cloud earlier, but that cleared later. Posted ImageIts good to tell that the neighbours have had BBQs.....the cats are bringing the odd discarded chicken bone and bits of meat home. Posted Image Better than mice and birds I suppose.

Hope you're all having a good week end.

Haven't slept for about 52 hours now due to post-birthday celebrations. I have now gone into the territory of seeing weird coloured shapes in my eyes, as well as my eyes randomly blurring out for a split seconfd which can only mean my eyes are experiencing serious fatigue. A good nights sleep tonight me thinks!
