Brightning up here at London Southbank - quite disapointed with the storm action since getting to work.

Am hoping this afternoon delivers more storms - especially for those that have missed out the first time round this morning!

Well, that was a bloody good start to the day. Some cracking lightning and booms of thunder in Ippy. :) Marvellous! Hope we get some more. :D

I think it may be more of an EA thing later, but then models (GFS inc) haven't been great predicting the lot from this morning:

You and Pete have my sympathy, it's been like that here for months, this mornings storm is the first time I've seen lightning from home for over a year

The chart for tornadoes hasn't looked this busy for ages across Northern Europe including us:

Actually, there is! Just a boring layer of thin low cloud here, annoying as if the sun was out it would be another scorcher plus would fuel more storms. Some amazing pics being posted! Keep 'em coming :)

All stopped now, in the last hour. Great while it lasted though :-)

Just have slate grey, and patches of lighter grey skies now, with a temp of a cool but comfortable 19c.

Absolutely cracking storm here in Essex..... still rumbling on in the distance.

Some amazing skies.  I've not added photos for ages so hope this works and they aren't too big!

Amazing photos - very Close Encounters!

CG lightning spotted to the south, it's coming. Gonna have to leave here for a while and turn everything off

ok rather nervy here, we could possibly slip between the two lines of storms here. Posted Image

After a brief let-up, another storm is drifting past to the west - loud crash of thunder a couple of minutes ago.

CG lightning spotted to the south, it's coming

Checking the NW radar, you've got a quite severe storm heading your way.

You can guarantee 'extreme' weather when the MetOffice take down their warnings!
