Great to hear all the storm reports from those that got them. Nothing here (and none forecasted/expected) but it seems one cell did actually get reasonably close to the NW tip of Kent. Must have been that distant, forming anvil I posted a snap of in the old thread.

Really has been another perfect summer's day here. Sunshine, cumulus, low humidity, and a very refreshing breeze. I think we got up to about 24°. Have just been in the front garden planting a lavender bush (trying to help the bee population!), and I hate to say it, but it has now struck me for the first time this year how the evenings ARE slowly starting to draw in now. Groan!

Looking soggy in Sussex and Kent, early tomorrow afternoon.

More thundery threats later in the week from the south possible, too early to pinpoint where though.

Charltonkerry, I see its been thundering in Canterbury this evening.......with runs from Michael Carberrys' bat. Just think he played for Kent and went to the same school as my son and daughter, he was in Antonys year infact at St.John Rigby, West Wickham. He's done really well considering the school couldnt afford much sports equipment, due to a certain headmistress who embezzled the school funds, allegedly. My two thought the Bible only consisted of the Old Testament, due to poor condition of text, reference books, with lots of pages missing, bless them.

Regards,

Tom.

Just thought I heard thunder here in Chislehurst.

Had a brief but violent little thunderstorm at lunchtime. Unfortunately, I was just coming back with the dogs from their walk... the one that's scared of thunder heard the first rumble and vanished.

So I set off in the car to go where he went last time he was scared, meanwhile at home, my husband got a call from a neighbour down the lane. He'd bounded through her gate and jumped into her car and wouldn't get out. Oh dear. Still it's a good way of meeting new neighbours (they bought the house a few months ago).

hi all

got friday for now

Posted Image

ukmo

Posted Image

we have unstable air

temps around 28 degrees and feeling quite oppressive

low pressure to our west should drive showers towards us on a brisk south west flow

this will be risky calling this at present due to the low pressure system may shift around in the next runs

at present it shows hot and sticky with potential for some lively storms in the afternoon

will be a tad more confident tomorrow night

still waiting saturday

Stayed dry here all day, closest it got to raining was a sharp shower moving up the Channel around 6pm. Quite warm too, up to 23.6c with plenty of sun and quite breezy.

Edit. Apparently it doesn't Posted Image

Edit again. It was taking too long to upload. Hardly worth it for one flash of lightning !!
