This, I do believe (1937-ish?) was the first ever time that the classic rock 'n' roll rhythm was played:

Higher state of consciousness...

Original version, not the one sometimes played on R1 now which goes to a too high of frequency.

The wonder years all the way upto the present day electric synth dance electronic trance etc beginning with a vintage year and a huge inspiration from this incredible tune well ahead of its time from 1977.

Synthesiser music was around before that though,  a major pioneer was Jean Michel Jarre (now 70!)

Wonder what year that was above I`ll guess 1974.

1978 and 79 now remember both these well at the time.

but that track was out in '77, the same year as 'i feel love'...

the tornados telstar (1962) was possibly the first big electronic hit

'i feel love' is credited with being the first electronic dance track, and did pave the way for the electronic dance genre that emerged in the late 80's - 90's in response to the emerging 'rave' scene .

The weather has thrown up two things to focus on during the coming hours and days. First the rain across the north and especially northwest of the UK, with some heavy, persistent downpours today in western Scotland in particular. Second, the build of heat later this week from the south, with temperatures forecast to rise into the mid-thirties, for some at least, by Friday. Read the full update here
