It's basically a forecast of "It might snow much more at low levels than we think, so we're covering bases with a yellow snow alert" *. Going to be cold though. BRRRR!!!

 

 

*I base this on the fact it often snows more than forecast when it's sometimes slightly marginal for snowfall.

Paul Hudson on radio Leeds.

Just putting flooding in to perspective.700 homes flooded in the last month down south.Floods that hit South Yorkshire a few years back 24,000......His words media frenzy and all that.

im hoping to have snow but not counting on it they've said this many times and its just been rain lol

Sleet here as expected. Snow may reach lower levels if we have showers this afternoon. Wet tomorrow and then very windy. If you're expecting wide spread away from the highest ground be prepare to be disappointed.

More fuss I see about flooding down sound this morning.

Woke up to heavy rain,just looked out and it has quickly turned to snow!

Too wet to settle but nice to see a bit of the white stuff falling from the sky.

Yep, even at our elevation its just raining! :-(

 

So much for the yellow warning!

 

I hate this country, always a let down, sick of this crap excuse for a winter :-(

This place in North York Moors is only 150metres up. Nice covering so i can imagine the higher parts of the moors are much better.(Please note this camera changes every 10 mins so if you don't see snow there was snow earlier )

Woo hoo! It turned to snow at about 9:00am temp 1ºc currently

Just starting to settle. .best make the most of it, met office seem to think temp will rise later..hope it doesn't ;)
