Well we are pushing into the last third of winter so I'm not surprised people are getting irate, we've been seeing positive synoptics since the end of December and none of have come to fruition. Even the projected spell of weather screams marginal and when you consider most members live in Southern England on low ground or close to the coast in the north its getting tiresome. Living mostly in London doesn't help for me as I know the projected spell will bring nothing more than a bit of wet snow, looks potentially interesting across high ground in central Northern England/Scotland though.

yeah its been a very testing winter this one. It hasnt lived up to the last few thats for sure. who knows whether they or this will prove to be the blip, lets just hope its this one and were back to snowy cold ones from next year onwards.

This coming week will offer some snow to us Yorkshire folk i think, we do stand a better chance than the south as u say CR.

Sleet and very wet snow in heavier bursts, otherwise just rain at the moment. We are at around 260m. Very blustery.

Nice to see some snow symbols on the BBC and Met Office forecasts for my location. As always, I think once snow conditions are there or there abouts forecasts can often understate the chance of it falling.

Definitely a slight upgrade for it to fall in West Yorkshire tomorrow or tonight, given that yesterday it was looking to be confined to the pennines and further West.

Has tonight's potential been downgraded again....?? Any feedback appreciated as at work

Still showing showers turning wintry as the evening wears on, with a longer spell in the early hours ? Fingers crossed !!

Woooooooo

Wooooooooo

The Met forecast for Leeds shows light snow at 1am. If the precipitation is heavy enough, there's no reason why snow shouldn't fall. Let's not forget November last year when snow was forecast only for high ground.

Doubt there will be much to get excited about at lower levels, but at least we might see some :-)

The clouds have this slightly orange/yellow tint to them which would indicate that snow is falling in the upper levels of our atmosphere. Much greyer at the bases which is obviously rain.

On a slightly different note, I have just counted the number of days this month when it has not rained at some time in the 24hour period, and I counted just 2 days.

So we have had some rain on 24 of the 26 days so far this month. Could this be some sort of record.
