Rumbles of thunder in the Darlo area still dry so far

The rain is coming down in torrents now although I think I can see the edge of the shower, and the thunder has stopped.

Spots of rain in darlo now the wind has really picked up in the past minute which is shifting the cloud through rapidly

Yep as per normal we have the magical darlo storm shield in place today all around us but not over us

One rumble here in Aycliffe, haven't seen any lightening yet. Would certainly be nice to have a decent thunder storm but I have a feeling we are going to be teased with heavy showers and not much else.

June 28th 2012 was the last proper storm we had here in Darlo it had the lot wind, heavy rain, thunder and lightening

Hopefully those showers coming from the NW can intensify as the cross into southern Northumberland/Tyne and Wear as the 6z GFS models instability till around 6pm then dying away as diurnal heating subsides.

that storm was amazing a proper supercell I've never seen rain like it

A more orginezed band of rain is now coming to Darlo we're just on the western edge of it looking at the radar

Yes its raining in Darlo without doubt now heaviest shower of the day so far

Yep and ECM has downgraded the heat and settled weather normal service resumes it seems

Well that rain didn't amount to anything there is lots of rain to our west according to the radar but its not moving our way very fast

Its become quite windy in Darlo this evening this wasn't forecast

yeah i no its still a bit breezy this morning other than that today should be a nice day

A mix of sunshine and cloud today quite breezy at times too looks like a mixed week coming up but improvements seem likely from Friday once high pressure builds in
