What a difference 24 hours makes this time yesterday we were under the only thunderstorm of the day this morning its cloudy but its not dark cloud and some brighter spells come along now and then.

Today should be dry, sunny and warm there is a chance that Isolated heavy showers may develop with some thunder this afternoon but I wouldn't relie on it

Maybe some heavy showers/thunderstorms moving north east into our region later this evening and overnight associated with active frontal systems moving in off the Atlantic

Really quite surprising how the storms just fizzled out as they reached us here - often the heat heading north and meeting higher ground or cooler air near the coast is a recipe for major storms and with forecasts suggesting 20mm+ possible it could have been quite a serious event locally, but there was 0.6mm yesterday and 0.6mm today so far - mostly in very short bursts of quite large drops. Still risk of more storms this week though.

It's so humid! Lots of towering clouds floating past.... If ever I thought there might be a storm it's today, I would love to see some nighttime lightening. Any thoughts?

All quite so far bit and bobs of rain scattered across the country overnight the bulk of the rain will be for north west England to the east of the pennines it will just be light and patchy at worst

During tomorrow things could get going again with heavy showers developing these could have thunder and lightening but as ever with showers some will get them and some won't

Friday should be a sunny and warm day a nice day to go to Darlington by the sea if your in Darlo and don't know what to do with the kids

A cracking day here after that early morning rain cleared, still very warm but we have lost that

extremely humid feel of the last few days.

No sign of the forecasted heavy showers and storms as yet.

Had a torrential shower yesterday afternoon, with a rumble of thunder before. Apparently Morpeth got a canny lashing from a preceding shower.

Nice and sunny out there today, although i'm cowering inside after picking up some sort of bug in Mexico Posted Image

Torrential rain and thunder in Carlisle - heading due east - will be sitting patiently waiting to see if we can get our share :) fingers crossed!

Big clouds buiding to the west of darlo currently blue sky is drifting back over us here in Darlo

So far we've done well today lots of blue sky and warm sunshine the storms have not developed as forecast there is a band of heavy rain currently west of the pennines which seems to be moving this way but how much energy it looses if it makes it over the pennines remains to be seen
