Cloudy and fairly muggy now in Darlo doesn't look like there is any significant rainfall on the way

The early morning sunshine has been replaced by cloud there is a band of rain across Yorkshire currently which needs watching as it may get to us by mid morning

EDIT

As soon as I said it clouded over the sun has broke through again!

Steady light rain over Darlo currently looks like the heaviest stuff is over the north sea currently

That lovely rain smell you get when it hasn't rained for a while, even my daughter noticed it

Looking like tomorrow's rain will be a lighter and patchier than previously thought

Today still looks like we may see some sharp showers this afternoon

Well the cloud keeps threatening here but so far we've stayed dry all day

Still warm and humid at times currently 19.7c though it does feel fresher in the breeze now a sign of things to come

The region may actually see enough rain to wet the ground overnight if it can make it over the pennines!

Could be some thundery interest on sunday afternoon as well over eastern areas.

Some more showers on monday before it settles down again for a few days, must say

its been a good summer so far in the North East.

There was some heavy rain in the early hours of the morning, although it doesn't take

long to dry up which is a far cry from this time last year!

Still on for some heavy showers tomorrow afternoon, maybe with thunder.

Only heard one rumble of thunder so far but there's been plenty of downpours with hail. It looks even worse south of here in North Yorkshire at the moment.

The thunder seems to be less frequent now. The worst of the rain seems to have been further west this time so I only got a heavy shower rather than a downpour.
