Who said all weather events ?

Extreme weather includes unusual, severe or unseasonal weather; weather at the extremes of the historical distribution—the range that has been seen in the past. The most commonly used definition of extreme weather is based on an event's climatological distribution: Extreme weather occurs only 5% or less of the time. According to climate scientists and meteorological researchers, extreme weather events have been rare. Some extreme weather events have been attributed to human-induced global warming, with a 2012 studies indicating an increasing threat from extreme weather.

I'm talking about the WMO labeling all extreme events as man made not the definition on Wikipedia ?

You asked what extreme weather was.. They dont blame all extreme weather on man, There is still lots of re-search to do on this subject by the expert's, so you may struggle to get a diffinitive answer as to what % mans effects are. Edited by Polar Maritime

I think its around 70% now but I cant find the link. Its 'the fear' all such events will be labeled man made. Of course they may all be man made (no one knows) its just the ease which we move from Global warming (not happening) climate change (not happening) to 'extreme weather events'. I guess we then go 'the weather'

2012

--------------

Man-made climate change may have contributed to half of the extreme weather events of 2012, scientists said in a new report in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

I don't buy a 0.01c global temp rise cf 1998 now causes 50%+ of extreme weather.(ie man made)

Forget global warming, worry about the MAGNETOSPHERE: Earth's magnetic field is collapsing and it could affect the climate and wipe out power grids.

We have moved from global warming to climate change to now 'extreme weather'. Any extreme weather event is now blame on man.

Pity no one has told the Insurers. :sorry:

Insurers in the 325-year-old market said it paid out net claims of £9.6billion in 2013, down from £10.1billion the previous year when major events such as Superstorm Sandy hit its figures.

It said the lack of severe storms and hurricanes in the US and earthquakes this time around had helped.

Another slap in the face For GW Alps have got colder over the last 26yrs The measured data come from ZAMG Austria DWD Germany and Metro Switzerland All show that temperatures in the mountains of Ostalpen have got colder and Kitzbuhul have dropped .So much for warming in the Alps.Prof,Dr Michael Kuln All measurements show that it has gotten colder in the mountains of the Ostalpen over the last 26 years.http://www.zukunft-skisport.at/these-2-die-winter-werden-seit-26-jahren-kaelter/

I understand the IPCC are no longer allowed to use Polar bears in their literature as the union of polar bears are not too concerned see pictures of them waiting for the ice to thin cira sept 2013. They now have to use horses . Supporting evidence attached.

ps its getting dark (man made no doubt)

Having read most of that lot I fail to see how you can say the polar bear population is rising. Most of it would appear to indicate polar bears are in trouble.Have you thought that if more polar bears are seen round settlements it might be the result of a lack of ice preventing them from hunting seals as they would normally do, and being hungry they are scavenging areas where we live and dump rubbish and food?

Polar bears have been around at least 600,000 years and have 'coped' with fluctuating ice far in excess of what we have today.

I fear its not the lack of ice but the McDonald's that keep them near humans and could be there down fall.

Yes there does appear to be evidence of diet change.

Polar Bear Diet Changes as Sea Ice Melts

A series of papers recently published by scientists at the American Museum of Natural History suggests that polar bears in the warming Arctic are turning to alternate food sources. As Arctic sea ice melts earlier and freezes later each year, polar bears have a limited amount of time to hunt their historically preferred prey—ringed seal pups—and must spend more time on land. The new research indicates that at least some polar bears in the western Hudson Bay population are using flexible foraging strategies while on land, such as prey-switching and eating a mixed diet of plants and animals, as they survive in their rapidly changing environment.

More extreme weather events ?

Surely most of the man made arguments are now around extreme weather events and blaming them as being man made ?

The record cold in May 2014 in some USA areas see attached doesn't get a mention, had they been record warm records surely they would be labeled as 'man made' do you not agree ?.

Really need some facts on this, more distortion of the Polar Bear numbers,Polar bear numbers is based on guesswork http://dailycaller.com/2014/05/30/scientists-admit-polar-bear-numbers-were-made-up-to-satisfy-public-demand/

According to Mr Joe.B.  there are four times the number of Polar Bears than there were in the 1950,s :good:

Didn't take long for the other side to dish Daniel Botkin via that wonderful site 'hotwhopper' why am i not surprised. If you can't refute the points made dish the guy instead seems to be the standard approach of the other side these days.

I would imagine polar bears are no less opportunistic than the many other species who have learned that man provides a well stocked larder through laziness to dispose of waste in the correct receptacle.

Man has a lot to answer for perhaps the 'drought' in the South West USA is 'man made', nothing to do with the climate of course. We should stop 'blaming the weather' a common theme now days.

Re Palm Springs Without an economic incentive, it therefore remains unlikely that golf courses — which on average use up to 1.2 million cubic meters (42.4 million cubic feet) of water a year — will choose recycled supplies.
