Posted Image never heard of or seen that until now, it makes plan 9 look like an emmy award winner!

but it does seem to have nicked some ideas from Barbarella (scantily clad female lead in thigh boots) so I had to watch it twice to be sure just *how* bad it was.Posted Image

Two classic films I can think of that are worth watching are "Crack in the World" and "This Island Earth" (get out your ray gun)

War of the worlds is a classic better than the remake.http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=P9T9f3UbGuoGot it to work this time.

Oh fully agree with you 100% on that, the remake was just plain awful!

Remember this film too, the scientist in the wheelchair gives up his space and the rocket launches to the 'new world' with martian ground and was it blue trees?

It was colouful and very entertaining and those thigh boots, good space effects colours really for the late 70`s.

As for when worlds collide I remember a comet crashing to earth, then a planet collides with earth.

This was way ahead of it time, remade in 1987 innerspace, but I prefer this original.

Ahh "To serve Man" then?

that's right. simple idea but quite clever for a little story.i also really liked william shatner seeing a monster on the wing of a plane, and the odessy of the flight lost in time.

Watched this other night, love my horror films and this isn't a bad one, based on a true story apparently!

one i enjoyed recently was called drag me to hell, it was overthetop but a good story.

Just watched Iron Sky (again) as it is soo cool  for a low budget Sci-Fi that looks big on its budget.

Currently reading "The Spanish Holocaust" by Paul Preston. He is the world's foremost historian on 20th century Spain and he spent years researching it.

it's a truly harrowing read. Apparently the author wept at times as he prepared what he calls "an extremely painful book to write". I had no idea the horrific extent and brutality of the atrocities. Mind nor did many others until recently. He uses the word holocaust with good reason.
