Only about 1-5mm here in the past 24 hrs, the heavier rain narrowly missed us to the east, as can be seen on the radar. However the latest NAE now has us in the heaviest rain over us for the next 24 hours (20mm+)

A very brief heavy shower late afternoon with bits of hail mixed in, it only lasted one minute , more heavy showers brewing to the southwest now however.

Was a bit disappointed not to be woken in the night by heavy rain and thunder. Still it's early in the season

Thoughts on the potential for end of April to be colder than average, now available at http://cymruweather.webs.com/apps/blog/

Looks like a bit of a washout this weekend with rain and strong winds moving in from a unusually deep low for this time of year, down to 955mb or less, turning milder but will feel fairly Autumnal.

ECM shows a maximum depth of 949, pretty impressive for mid April

Plenty of rain incoming esp. over the higher ground, first from the initial warm front on Saturday then from a trailing cold front that may not clear until well into Sunday

Windy too.

NAE 18Hz last night forecast over 20mm of rain for here by now, and we have had under 2mm. No wonder they are getting rid of it.

However a damp/wet weekend looks on the cards and 20-25mm of rain is again possible, more especially late Saturday into Sunday, perhaps more widely this time,

Rivers and streams running at typically low Spring levels, at what is the driest season.

My weekly guide underplayed temps this week, it has been an average not cool week for west Wales. Got the Autumnal weekend bit correct though by the looks of it.

Some heavy showers across Wales now, and there was one that just passed over me which was fairly intense!

What a rotten dreary morning, driving rain, howling wind, although mild. Give me the beautiful bright dry, albeit cold, days of last week! Going back to bed with tea and crossword, harrumph......

Another vote for the cold dry weather here. Absolutely brutally bad day....autumnal sums it up. Wet, windy and thoroughly grotty. One of those days when you wake up, peep through the curtains and be tempted to just hide under the bedcovers for the day. Crap!

Think we had some hail around midnight and the lightning detectors picked up a strike around Neath way. Over an inch of rain from this system and still throwing it down.

Looking at the radar Accumulation (v6), it really shows the rainfall variation 25mm+ on higher ground inland in last 24 hrs, closer to 10mm on the coast, today it looks as if we have missed the heaviest rain, and stuck with the horrible drizzly stuff.

Sorry to say this and it really hurts. Just arrived in my hotel in the Netherlands (work trip until tuesday night) and sat outside with a beer in a t shirt and 22degrees C.

Weather cleared about half two so lovely, if breezy, couple of hours walking. Snow pretty much gone, rivers very full. If tomorrow ok will plant out tatties.

Yes 11.4c min here last night, pity it wasn't much warmer than that during the day. Pretty windy too last night, blew over a couple of bushes. Only 12mm rain in the last 24 hours but seemed a lot more in the strong wind, was big droplets too at times so very loud on the roof and windows.

We got to 14.9C today but it looks like turning colder by Friday as winds switch to a more west/northwesterly

Pleasantly warm today, with decent sunny spells, and the rain reserved for the overnight period/early this morning. .

The way it should be.

Yes first recorded day of sunburn GREAT lol.

Wouldnt it be great if our climate was rain introduced by low pressure during the night then followed by sunny/hazy conditions during the day! We can only dream!
