Rain and thunder here in Cardiff, though I haven't seen any lightning yet.

Everything just turned off in my house connected to the mains... this thunderstorm is intense.

Sky boxes have gone down here. It's all gone quiet for now, but looking at the radar it's likely we'll get some more.

Don't you just love a good storm? :)

A storm passed by the other night, saw some impressive fork lightning including one or two CG strikes that hit the mountain. Still no darn overhead storms though.

Throwing it down out there today, 20mm so far with a lot more to come tonight and tomorrow. NAE goes for close to 100mm for parts of S Wales. Met Office issued yellow warning which they say could be updated to amber later.

After a very sunny morning, some big towers have grown to the east of here in Swansea and are drifting this way.  Could go bang this afternoon

It's been really hot and humid here in north Wales today, any chance of thunder this afternoon/night?

I posted a couple of photos yesterday - should have put them in here too but was in a bit of a rush :)

Here's some news articles for anyone interested

Not heard anything to suggest it came close to touching down but still a magnificent sight!

It's looking like a predominately dry BH weekend and a nice settled week to end summer. Can’t moan about that.

I’ve really enjoyed this summer. Not sure what the stats will tell us but I feel it’s the best overall summer I’ve experienced since 2003. The few unsettled spells were bearable because there always seemed to be an end in sight, which is a complete turnaround form recent summers. It’s really restored by faith in the Welsh summer.

Have a great summer bank holiday!
