Why isen"t Jackone doing his ski blog Sking in the Pyrenees in June for the first time http://t.co/MK1rp9fWB2

Don't want to be called a Alps Snow Ramper, do I. Posted Image

2 years ago, there was no snow in Mid April, this year it has been ridiculous. As we discussed last week, it caused havoc in the GIro d'Italia.

http://www.snoweye.com/?page=fr-ch-portesdusoleil shows Avoriaz, a resort I have been to, and for much of the past week, there has been fresh snow overnight, which has thawed by day.

the sun has burst through here in cardiff and another pleasantly warm day.

not sure why i'm reading everywhere about another rubbish summer. so far we've had decent weekends and whilst not being boiling hot we've had much better weather so far than the previous 5 or 6 ones.

i've even seen someone saying they haven't turned their heating off yet. they must have a cold body.

It worked glorious later this afternoon. Posted Image

The last 2 and a bit weeks has been pretty sunny, with 3 decent weekends in a row, we are doing far better than our friends in the east. [in the period 16th May to yesterday sunshine in St Athan 126 hrs, Heathrow 75hrs]

With the "massive" exception of last year, recent Junes have ranged from average to well above average, it is a shame that the same cannot be said for August and especially July.

Did anyone see the noctilucent clouds last night, was fairly spectacular. Seen them on a few nights but last night was the best. This taken before sunrise.

Looks like turning more cloudy now though, hope it's not the last chance for a while. Turning unsettled with rain from Wednesday, doesn't look especially wet (though there could be some heaviier rain at times) but looks fairly unsettled and damp for the forseeable future.

Barely a cloud in the sky for most of June, not too warm and humid either.

Looking NE from my place. Lots of cloud for the forseeable future though so looks like there won't be much chance of seeing anymore for a while.

The Met Office have issued gale warnings for tonight and tomorrow for S. Wales

Strong, gusty winds from the southwest or west, have the potential to gust to over 40 mph quite widely on Thursday, and in excess of 50 mph at a few locations. The strongest winds will transfer eastwards through the day, clearing eastern areas by evening. Given the time of year, with trees in full leaf and some holiday traffic and activities, the public should be aware of the possibility of localised minor impacts.

Looks like it's going to feel more like October than June for the next week or so.

Well England are 'playing' in Cardiff today in a must win clash against NZ in order to progress in the ICC Champions Trophy.

Seen several forecasts over the last few days. A few days ago, today was deluge. Last night it was an improving picture with rain not coming in until later in the day. This morning the weather was largely clear with showers later in the day. But nowcasting shows us that its throwing it down and has been since 10.30 this morning!

Total embarrassment that the forecasts can be so wrong.
