Massive hailstorm here in Altrincham leaving a few CM of hail. Thunder was impressive as well. Not seen anything like it. Gone dark again now.

The sun is setting now and the hail is still lying on the ground, it means its going to be a very cold night tonight. Posted Image

Maybe some black ice on the roads, especially on high ground. At least it is better than the usual damp squid we had in the past couple of weeks. I would call this the first real cold snap.

J17 that's Sandbach junction. Not far from here but may aswell be when I'm missing this stuff by such fine margins.

Yes, we miss it completely when the PPN takes the track that it has today, but then have it full on if there is that North Westerly flow.

thats why places like Stockport are very snowy, they can have snow of, SW'ly, WSW'ly, W'ly, WNW'ly, NW'ly and probably even NNW'ly, where as my location can only get snow of a NNW'ly, through cheshire Gap

Needs to be a straight NW'ly here. Though seen it plenty of times where a straight NW'ly has pushed the showers to the S of Manchester with Manchester itself missing out.
