Told by a colleague it was snowing fairly heavily for a time early this morning. I was asleep so didn't see it but there was flakes coming down last night about 2ish when I went to bed.

Still, first flakes of the season!

Don't know what anyone else thinks however there is a possibility of back edge snow as the LP departs tomorrow

with the colder air once again digging in however the ground will be so wet that nothing would lie but for those who

haven't seen there first flakes of snow tomorrow may be the time before HP sits over us for the next few weeks LOL

BTW went to work at 5am this morning and it was snowing quite heavy the car just about had a covering

2.2C already, NW wind had abated, so it looks like the first air frost of the season should be upon us in about 30 minutes time or so.

2.7°C here now and dropping fast. I also think we might be in for our 2nd air frost of the season, but i'd give it about an hour and a half, maybe 2.

2.4°C now.

Chester the temperature fell from 2.6 to 1.3C in just 10 minutes Posted Image

Here its 2.0C now, but about 50 feet higher I can see the wind gusting through the Poplars, but on ground level there's none, so in affect there is an inversion. It must be about 4C up there.

edit: 1.1C in Chester now.. crumbs, that's like frost hollow type falls. Chester isn't frost hollow though, its on a little hill!

I think there could well be a chance of freezing rain for some places tonight, what with the inversion layers forming. It all depends on how low the temps can get before the cloud comes, and then how much they rise after the cloud arrives, and the wind of course.

I think there's a large cloud fetch before the rain arrives so I think it will have warmed up significantly, before the rain arrives, also taking into account a strengthening coastal wind, that said, inland there might be chance of something like that, but it's probably an outside chance at the moment.

On that topic, I can see a cloud mass approaching from the NW

Well TBH I was thinking more inland areas anyway.
Temp is now 1.4°C. it's plummeting like the proverbial stone.
