We will know if it will snow in Carlisle if it snows in Carlisle.Likewise, We will know if it won't snow in Bootle if it doesn't snow in Bootle.

bit of a tongue twister that;)

Good good. Thicknesses should be around 529 DAM and 850s around -4 so a few hours yet before we see them turn wintery, but uppers and thicknesses are dropping all the time

Too Marginal on the coast tonight for anything significant and no PPN here, Game over for tonight and too marginal tomorrow, not wasting my time.

In fact tomorrow night isn't marginal at all, it guaranteed rain, even at 1000ft.

Will it or won't it?  That is the million dollar question.  We patiently wait.

Not sure if you've ever walked into a bar, that you haven't been in for year, and see people you use to know, that's kind of what this is like right now!

Currently breezy, 5.4C.. no sign of wintriness yet, but hail is definite possibility through the night!

Was thinking just the same myself. To much of a NNW direction to it with the majority of showers only effecting the coastal regions where altitude is obviously a problem. As for tomorrow, I'd expect you'd have to be up amongst the highest parts of the Pennines, Cumbrian Fells etc to see anything other than rain.Anyway at least I'm back of holiday without missing out on anything worthwhile and TBH even the change of temperature from 32c down to this afternoons 5c was bearable with the heating on.

Tomorrow night is going to be interesting from a locality point of view, early evening frost, perhaps down to -4C before rising later ahead of strengthening winds ahead of the low. It's going to be very interesting to see the sort of lows acheiveable in the southeast tomorrow night, given the cloud and breeze will be virtually none existent in some areas.

Wind here right now has fallen light, quite a surprise as it has some beef to it before, potential frost therefore, unless we get some of Wallasey's hail. Anyone who does see the genuine article (snow) let us know!

Temperature has increased by half a degree though, which suggests cloud cover, so shower probably just missed me to the south.
