all personal taste I know but for me snow would be nice, but I could take or leave it in nov.....what Id love to see would be a 2010 style hoar frost....that was more spectacular looking than your average snow fall.

Until visiting this site I saw myself as a snow lover but see myself much more as a cold weather lover (in winter) now,  after realizing I do not fixate on snow to anywhere near the extent many of you do....

Not sure why this thread is still so dead considering we are likely to have some kind of snow event on Tuesday night, now looking increasingly likely to be a back-edge event as cold air undercuts a front moving down from the north.

GFS shows that front decaying by the time it reaches N Wales

Only if its a real stonking cold spell with embedded cold, otherwise the westerly element tends to mix in warmer air on those western coasts (West Lancs as well as the areas mentioned)

Agreed, but you have to be in it to win it - no precipitation = no snow, -5c uppers with precipitation = some chance of snow, however small.

Snow moving steadily westwards across the Pennines.

Why....its only going to rain.

Sorry your Holy one, lend me your crystal ball..

If anything comes from this setup, it'll be sunshine, not rain. Should the precip come, it'll be snow...

The models are struggling to pin this feature down some show it decaying as it reaches N wales others show it been a bit more

Troublesome either way any snow on low ground will struggle to settle however altitudes 150m plus COULD see a covering

over to the 12z for further updates

Yes, hopefully we will be doing the honours for the first time this winter, don't care if it happens at night, it will be a good dummy run for the Ashes on Wednesday night.

Living in the Hazelhurst area of Ashton would help at around 650 feet Posted Image
