UK Outlook for Wednesday 13 Nov 2013 to Friday 22 Nov 2013:

After a largely fine but cold start to Wednesday with sunny spells, strong winds and heavy rain are likely to push east across most areas through the day. Thursday will be rather cold and breezy with sunny spells and showers, showers heaviest across western areas with snow possible over higher ground. Temperatures will be generally cold overnight but near average by day. Thereafter, a north/south split is likely to develop across the UK, with the best of any dry and bright weather across the south but with more in the way of rain and stronger winds across northern parts. It will be cold enough for snow at times across northern hills with a greater risk of frost and fog in the south during clearer spells.

Just got back from shop and it was pouring down with rain and hail. Its cold enough that hailstones did stick to the ground here but it most of it melted after 10 mins.

i think there are still some hailstones left right now.

Yep flash of lightning, rumble of thunder, and hailstones mixed in with the rain.

Looked so promising 8am this morning, but the Irish Sea conveyor belt looks to be in motion again, injecting life into the showers.  Hope we get lots more these setups in mid winter Posted Image

We had thunder here before i think! Bit hard to tell with the Warton jet engines firing up! But it was very dark with a rainbow so it could have been thunder to the north of here, we also had a sleet and hail shower not long after.

Lots of thunder and lightning here! Great forked lightning right across the sky! Heavy hail on and off, left a covering.

Edited to say I'm in cheetham hill atm

Nowt here as usual! Just a steady stream of Cb clouds in the northern horizon. Now where I have I seen that before?!

Don't seem to get direct NW'lys for some reason anymore.

Blimey, I hope you haven't got a car, they would have the wheels off a jumbo jet if it flew too low around there!!!

Some of these active cores are getting within 15 miles now. If this was a snow event I'd be ripping my hair out!
