Usual Chester-le-Street to Morpeth area getting the snow. Maybe some from what's behind it for here.

Actually I think I'll be in a dry spot - what's coming will slip S.. I reckon Ferryhill, Aycliffe, Darlo will get that big band. Very little for Durham I fear.

Now that was heavy snow. Certainly not the wet type either. Just a little taster of what's coming. Radar looks very good in about 1 hour.....

Not for N of Durham! I can't see any of what's left hitting Newcastle.

You're quite right. I was just about to post that... I tell you what NE Scotland looks like the place to be!

It would seem from the charts that would make sence, the showers at the moment look in "clumps" which may suggest they are forming a trough(s),, there are some half hearted CB cells in the North sea though and some developing behind the troughs.

Had a lovely sunny start here in Darlo looking at the radar there is plenty of snow coming off the north sea some areas are getting hit and some are not

The cold weather alert is now a level 3 one and is extended to Thursday

Towards the end of the week day time maximum temperatures are expected to gradually increase.

The radar looks similar to the 26th Nov 2010 when the trough formed offshore and moved inland to give 4-8 inches in NE Scotland and NE England.

Snowing lightly in Keswick this morning.

SOme heavy showers here, and I don't often use the word heavy re. snow, but there has been some hefty stuff.

Just looked at the radar to 10:45 and that lot in the north sea in heading south east wards, is this a radar error?

The "predict forward" feature is utter rubbish.

Heavy snow now, first signs of settling also.

Looking at the cloud images, whilst the cloud tops may not look too impressive, there is quite a few showers around it seems so I think there is a chance of a covering tonight for sure.

Love to see the snow blowing up my street, rather than down it, reminds me this is coming from a very cold direction!
