Great player. Saw him play for Spurs v Bristol City in League Cup semi-final at Bristol City's ground in Dec 1970. It was a 9th birthday treat from my Dad. Alan Gilzean rose higher than any one and his header put Spurs 1-0 up.

The only English player to come anywhere near Peters' trademark late runs into penalty area in recent times is Frank Lampard imho.

RIP great man.

Martin Peters (R.I.P), a great Player from my Youth.

My Father's (who was a staunch Hammer's Fan), favourite Player.

An oft quoted term about Peters was, "Ahead of his time". A West Ham, Spurs and England legend!!

Regards,

Tom.    :hi:

He played well over 200 times for Norwich in the 1970s. Before my time, but older fans say he was fantastic. Got a pat on the head from him when seeking his autograph at a charity game in the 1980s. RIP. Not many of the 1966 boys left.

Tony Britton has died aged 95, his TV presenter daughter Fern announced today.

The former This Morning presenter took to Twitter to announce the sad news.

She wrote: "Our father, Tony Britton, died early this morning. Great actor, director and charmer. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."

Legendary actor Tony starred in films Operation Amsterdam, Sunday Bloody Sunday and The Day of the Jackal.

he was also known for playing the famously conservative Doctor dad in BBC sitcom Don't Wait Up with charmer son Nigel Havers and Dinah Sheridan.

Monty Python star Terry Jones has died at the age of 77.

Very sad to learn of the passing of one of my Monty Python heroes.

Never missed an episode of M.P. with my Sister, which was broadcast on BBC, on a Thursday evening.

With my School Friends, would re-enact Thursday Night's episode in our Woodwork lesson the following Morning, much to the annoyance of our Woodwork Teacher.

Below, is a Youtube clip of one of my favourite, Monty Python sketches:

Apologies for the Spanish subtitles. But it's a classic. Mr.Hilter and Ron Vibbentrop!!

"Excuse me not shaking hands but I've just been putting a bit of lard, on the Cat's boil.!!"

And who can forget his, "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty Boy", in The Life of Brian.

Regards,

Tom.    :hi:
