UK Outlook for Sunday 12 Aug 2018 to Tuesday 21 Aug 2018:

On Sunday cloud and rain is likely to push slowly southwards across the UK, with clearer weather and a few showers following. Early next week many northern and western areas should become fine and dry, whilst southeastern parts may still have some showers or perhaps some longer periods of rain. Generally light to moderate winds, though perhaps locally strong in the south at first, and with temperatures generally around normal. The remainder of the week becomes largely dry for many, but further spells of rain or showers are likely to push southeastwards with time. Any rain will be heaviest in the north and west, and here it'll be windier, with a low risk of gales later. Looking further ahead, there is a general trend towards more settled conditions.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 22 Aug 2018 to Wednesday 5 Sep 2018:

Through the remainder of August there is a trend towards more generally settled conditions for many, with areas of high pressure likely to dominate the weather, bringing drier conditions with them. The north and northwest are likely to see the driest of the weather, whilst the south may see occasional showers or thunderstorms at times. Some occasionally unsettled spells are probable, but there are signs that the prevailing weather pattern will promote more settled than average conditions across the UK. Temperatures are likely to be above normal, and many areas may become warm or very warm, with an increased risk of hot spells also returning.

On Monday many areas will see a mixture of showers and brief spells of sunshine. Some of these showers may be heavy with a risk of thunder. We may also see some longer spells of rain across the north. Tuesday is likely to be a slightly drier and brighter day, especially in the south but further showers or bands of rain are then expected at times through the week. The most persistent rain is expected across the north and west. Southern and eastern parts will often be drier. Temperatures are set to be around average with a cool feel in spells of rain. Towards the end of the week, it may become drier and warmer across the UK with lighter winds.

Really not liking the outlook.  Seems like we could be in for a continuation of summer in September.  This year seems to be following the path of 2006 rather closely.
