UK Outlook for Friday 10 Aug 2018 to Friday 24 Aug 2018:

Throughout this period it seems most likely that the weather pattern will change only very slowly. Western and southern areas will often be dry, sunny and very warm, but with the risk of some cloudier periods with rain at times, or heavy showers and thunderstorms. Further north and east drier and more settled conditions are expected to be more dominant, although with the ongoing risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms breaking out at times. Temperatures are expected to remain widely above average for most, with further spells of very warm or hot conditions probable, and a likelihood of very hot conditions at times, especially in the south.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 1 Aug 2018 to Friday 10 Aug 2018:

August starts with generally dry weather with some sunshine and just a few showers, although northwestern parts will be cloudier with some outbreaks of rain. Through the middle of the week into the following weekend, more in the way of fine weather is likely, and while the northwest may see some rain there is likely to be a good deal of dry and bright weather even here. Looking further ahead it probably becomes more settled with many areas dry and sunny, although occasional heavy showers and thunderstorms are possible, and with the northwest cloudier with some rain at times. Temperatures around normal in the northwest to begin with, but otherwise it is likely to become very warm with a chance of hot conditions developing again, especially across the south.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 Aug 2018 to Sunday 12 Aug 2018:

For many of us this period will begin dry and fine, however some showers are possible particuarly in central and northern areas on Friday and perhaps Saturday. There will also be some sunshine, with the most prolonged sunny skies across far southern areas. As we head further into August many areas are expected to be fine and dry with plenty of sunshine, but there will be a chance of one or two showers here and there. At times it will be cloudier in the northwest with a risk of rain, but often it will also be fine here too. Temperatures around normal in the northwest to begin with, but otherwise it is likely to become very warm with a small chance of hot conditions developing again, especially across the south.

UK Outlook for Saturday 4 Aug 2018 to Monday 13 Aug 2018:

Over next weekend, there will be a good deal of fine weather on both days, with sunny spells expected for many. Isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible though, and these are most likely for southern counties. Temperatures will be above the seasonal average for most, and it will be very warm, if not hot, in the south. Plenty of sunshine will then continue for most regions. Still, there will be a chance of isolated thunderstorms developing, but the wind will be generally light. In the northwest however, it could be breezy at times, and the wind will perhaps be accompanied by outbreaks of rain. For many it will stay dry though, and by mid August, the very warm or hot conditions in the south may also move into central areas.

Short unsettled interludes are also possible however, and these are most likely in the south, with a risk of heavy showers or thunderstorms breaking out at times. The north and northwest may also possibly be affected by occasional wet and cloudier conditions. UK Outlook for Sunday 5 Aug 2018 to Tuesday 14 Aug 2018:

Next Sunday will see a good deal of fine weather, with sunny spells and light winds. Isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible though, and these are most likely for southern counties. On Monday it will probably become a little more unsettled, with the greatest chance of cloudy conditions and outbreaks of rain in the north and west. Away from the northwest, temperatures will be above the seasonal average for many, and it will be very warm, if not hot, in the south. For a time, changeable conditions look likely, with a mixed bag of some sunny spells and periods of cloudier weather, with outbreaks of rain. The cloud and rain will be most frequent in northern areas, with the south seeing the greater share of drier, settled and sunny periods.

UK Outlook for Monday 6 Aug 2018 to Wednesday 15 Aug 2018:

Much of this period looks likely that high pressure will continue to dominate across much of the UK. However, it will be cloudier in the north and perhaps west at times, with the possibility of some showery rain in places. Elsewhere looks mainly dry and bright, with plenty of sunny spells and any early mist or fog patches quickly dispersing. Away from the northwest, temperatures will be above the seasonal average for many, and it will be very warm, if not hot, in the south, which may lead to the development of a few heavy showers or thunderstorms. Thereafter, a gradual decline in temperatures is generally expected, though it is likely to remain warmer than average in most places away from any more unsettled spells.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 7 Aug 2018 to Thursday 16 Aug 2018:

Looking ahead into next week, Tuesday and Wednesday will be a mixed bag with changeable conditions likely. There will be some hot and sunny weather around in places, but this will also bring the risk of some heavy showers and possibly thunderstorms. Following that, as we look ahead to the middle of August, some weather systems may bring cloudier skies, and at times wet and windy conditons. These are likely to be followed by drier and brighter interludes though, especially in the southeast. Temperatures are likely to be hot in the southeast to begin with, but as we head into the middle of the month, will return back nearer to average for the time of year.

These are odd outlooks, short unsettled spells of weather most likely in the south, but then say the north and northwest may also be possibly affected by wet and cloudier conditions, would all suggest high pressure to the north or north west, and low pressure more to the south - but really this isn't forecast.. poorly written forecasts.

Certainly an increasing degree of certainty making an appearance - all indicating a greater chance of a more mixed outlook. Wouldn't be surprised to see the word 'mixed' being used in upcoming outlooks.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 8 Aug 2018 to Friday 17 Aug 2018:

Wednesday will bring mixed weather across the UK with changeable conditions likely. There is a risk of heavy thunderstorms in eastern areas first thing, but these will quickly clear away. Elsewhere, it will be cooler with a mixture of sunshine and showers. Blustery showers will be heaviest and most frequent across the north and west. As we look ahead to the middle of August, fresher conditions are likely across all parts with scattered showers continuing. Heavy and more persistent rain is possible at times, mainly in the north and west. Drier and brighter interludes are likely too though, especially in the southeast. Strong winds are possible for all areas, particularly in the north and west, and temperatures will generally be around average.

UK Outlook for Thursday 9 Aug 2018 to Saturday 18 Aug 2018:

Thursday will see a mixture of sunny spells and showers across the UK, with the most frequent showers in northern parts. There is a small chance of some heavy and perhaps thundery rain affecting some eastern parts before clearing on Friday. Western areas are expected to see thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain on Friday, these will then move east through the day. As we look ahead to the middle of August, fresher and changeable conditions are expected across all parts with spells of cloud and rain followed by brighter interludes with a few showers. The heaviest rain is likely in the northwest with the best of the drier weather in the southeast. Temperatures will be around average, though it will feel cool at in the northwest.

UK Outlook for Friday 10 Aug 2018 to Sunday 19 Aug 2018:

As we head through the day on Friday wet and windy weather will arrive across the southwest. Ahead of this there will be a mixture of sunny spells and a few showers. This wet and windy weather will then move northeastwards, clearing over the weekend. Some spells of thicker cloud and rain then remain possible through the rest of this period at times, especially across the northwest but there will also be a good deal of fine and dry weather, particularly across the southeast. Temperatures will be around average overall, though it will feel cool in the west in spells of rain and during brighter interludes it is likely to feel warm in the south.

UK Outlook for Sunday 19 Aug 2018 to Sunday 2 Sep 2018:

To begin this period, some spells of rain are possible with rain expected to be heaviest in the northwest and the most prolonged dry and bright weather further south and east. It will still be warm occasionally in the south but generally temperatures are expected to be around normal. However, as we head through this period weather patterns are expected to become increasingly slow moving with longer spells of largely dry and fine weather inbetween any brief spells of rain. During these spells of largely dry and fine weather there is a chance of very warm or hot temperatures, especially across southern parts. During any very warm or hot spells there is also a risk of thunderstorms across the south.

UK Outlook for Saturday 11 Aug 2018 to Monday 20 Aug 2018:

The weekend starts on a changeable note, with spells of rain for much of the UK. The rain should clear to scattered showers later, these mostly across central and southern areas, and on Sunday drier conditions probably will begin to become established in the northwest. Strong winds on Saturday with a risk of gales in the west at first, become lighter during Sunday, and while temperatures will be generally close to normal, it may be rather warm at times in the southeast. Into the following week there is a trend towards drier, more settled conditions for many, although there is a chance of some showery rain mid-week. Looking further ahead, it will probably continue settled for many, though still with the risk of more changeable conditions at times.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 21 Aug 2018 to Tuesday 4 Sep 2018:

Through the remainder of August generally settled conditions will probably continue for many, although with a risk of more generally changeable conditions at times. The drier conditions may become focussed over the northern half of the UK, whilst the south may have showers or thunderstorms at times. By early September there are signs that the weather pattern becomes increasingly slow moving, with settled conditions possibly becoming more widespread across the UK. Temperatures are likely to be above normal, and perhaps well above normal into the start of September.
