UK Outlook for Tuesday 29 May 2018 to Thursday 7 Jun 2018:

Through the early part of next week, there will be a good deal of dry, fine and sunny weather across the UK. Mist and low cloud may continue to affect eastern coastal districts. There is also a risk of scattered thunderstorms across the south and southwest, especially through Wednesday. It will stay very warm for most, locally hot in the south, although temperatures may fall closer to average by Wednesday. For the rest of the period, there will be more fine and dry weather to come, with the best of the sunshine in the north. There is a continued threat of thundery showers across central and southern areas, and the far west could see rain at times. After a very warm start, temperatures are likely to fall closer to average.

It wasn't long ago that the metoffice were forecasting a below average end to may. Seaweed and a farmer's almanac are more useful.

UK Outlook for Saturday 9 Jun 2018 to Saturday 23 Jun 2018:

Confidence remains low through June, however there are signs that it may become more widely changeable across the UK. This will bring more frequent spells of rain or showers. However there are likely to be drier and more settled periods for most areas too, particularly from mid June onwards. Temperatures are likely to be near or slightly above average on the whole, with the potential for some warmer spells, more probable towards the end of the period.

Look at the last two updates.  Spot the (subtle) difference.

Second clause, third sentence.

Yesterday's signalling the end of decent weather,  today's signalling the rebirth of it?

Considering what they were saying about the end of may not long back, for several updates, its no wonder the bbc dropped them.

UK Outlook for Thursday 31 May 2018 to Saturday 9 Jun 2018:

Towards the end of next week and into the weekend, there will be a good deal of dry, fine and sunny weather across the UK. However, some mist and low cloud may affect eastern coastal districts, but also some sunny spells. There is the risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms developing, mainly across central and southern areas. Staying very warm for most, but perhaps cooler along east and northeastern coastal areas. For the rest of the period, there will probably be a good deal of dry weather with sunny spells, best of which is likely to be in the north. However, it will probably turn more changeable across the UK with rain or showers developing quite widely, with temperatures falling closer to the average during early June.

UK Outlook for Monday 11 Jun 2018 to Monday 25 Jun 2018:

Through this whole period signals are mixed and weak, which generally gives low or very low confidence at this stage. On balance, probably more generally changeable than of late, with spells of rain or showers becoming more frequent and widespread at times, especially during the first half of the period. However, all parts of the country are likely to see some settled spells of weather, particularly in the second half of June. Temperatures probably overall near or slightly above normal. However, there is the potential for further very warm spells of weather to develop across the UK, which are more likely to occur later in the month.

By the end of the week and during the weekend, there will be a good deal of dry and fine weather around, with sunny spells. However, thundery showers continuing on Friday, before dying out on Saturday from the north. Into next week, there will probably be a good deal of dry weather around, with sunny spells. The driest and sunniest conditions likely to be in the north, with the south perhaps cloudier with risk of thundery showers, especially at first, but probably becoming drier and brighter later. The above suggests a revert back to a more typical atlantic pattern, but with confidence very low.. Probabilities will always favour the atlantic ruling.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 13 Jun 2018 to Wednesday 27 Jun 2018:

Through this whole period signals are mixed and weak, which generally gives low or very low confidence at this stage. There will, however, probably still be a good amount of fine weather at least initially, especially in the north. On balance, more changeable conditions than of late are probable, with spells of rain or showers becoming more frequent and widespread at times. All parts of the country are likely to see some decent settled spells of weather though. Temperatures overall will likely be near or slightly above normal. There is the potential for further very warm spells of weather to develop mainly in the south however, with northwestern areas likely to be cooler than earlier in the month.

UK Outlook for Saturday 19 May 2018 to Monday 28 May 2018:

Saturday will start off cool across much of the UK, perhaps cold enough for a slight rural frost in some places. However, it is likely to stay dry for most and we are expecting plenty of warm sunshine. Sunday will be very similar, but cloudier in the northwest with an increasing chance of rain later. There will probably be a reasonable amount of dry and sunny weather into the following week. However, the west and northwest will probably be more changeable with occasional rain or showers. The driest and sunniest conditions will therefore probably be in the east and southeast. Temperatures will generally be warm or possibly locally very warm, with a chance of cooler conditions developing from the west or northwest later.

I am just looking at this forecast for the above period. They got it the wrong way round. Completely understated the block to the north. Fantastic weather in the NW , dry and sunny for the most part. Disappointing for the East regions  and certainly wettest further South.  Ah well, that's the unpredictability of longer range weather forecasting. But have to admit that I thought that forecast was far too pessimistic for the NW considering the strength of the block ( Mid Atlantic/Scandinavia High ).

UK Outlook for Thursday 14 Jun 2018 to Thursday 28 Jun 2018:

There is low confidence in the forecast at this stage, and the details will only become clearer nearer the time. For the time being, it looks as though there will probably be some fine weather initially, especially in the north. However, more changeable conditions could develop in which case we will see rain becoming more frequent and widespread across the UK at times, followed by some more settled spells. Temperatures overall will likely be near or slightly above normal for the time of year. There is potential for further warm spells of weather to develop mainly in the south however, with northwestern areas likely to be cooler than earlier in the month.

UK Outlook for Monday 4 Jun 2018 to Wednesday 13 Jun 2018:

There will be a good deal of fine weather around next week, with the best of the sunshine in the northwest. However scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms may affect southern and western areas at times, although there will still be some dry and bright weather in between. There is likely to be some mist, fog and low cloud around eastern coasts, although with some sunny spells possible too. UK Outlook for Tuesday 5 Jun 2018 to Thursday 14 Jun 2018:

Both Tuesday and Wednesday should see a good deal of fine weather, with the best of the sunshine in the west and northwest. There is always a risk of scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms could affect southern and western parts at times, but there will be some dry and bright weather here too. It will be warmest in the west, but cooler along North Sea coasts, with some mist and fog lingering here. These conditions are likely to last through the weekend, but as we move towards the middle of the month the forecast becomes much more uncertain. There may still be plenty of fine weather and warm spells, but more changeable weather with showers or longer spells of rain could become more frequent and widespread at times.

UK Outlook for Saturday 16 Jun 2018 to Saturday 30 Jun 2018:

There is low confidence in the forecast at this stage. However, it looks as though the second half of June will probably start changeable with showers or perhaps longer spells of rain, these interspersed with drier periods. While temperatures may be close to or a little above normal for a time, there will be an ongoing risk that warm, humid and perhaps thundery conditions will spread across the UK from the continent . The last week of the month may become more generally settled, with a chance of warm temperatures and more sunshine for many.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 6 Jun 2018 to Friday 15 Jun 2018:

Wednesday and Thursday should see a good deal of fine weather, with sunny spells for much of the UK. There is always a risk that scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms could affect the far south and southeast at times. Generally very warm in the west at first, but temperatures nearer normal elsewhere, with cooling sea breezes on some coasts. Through the second weekend of June, there's a risk of thundery showers in parts of the southwest and west, but many southern and eastern areas stay largely dry, although it may become more generally unsettled in the west later that Sunday. Through the rest of this forecast period until the middle of June, more changeable weather with showers or longer spells of rain is likely, but interspersed with some drier periods.
