UK Outlook for Tuesday 28 Mar 2017 to Thursday 6 Apr 2017:

Many places will be mostly dry with sunny spells on Tuesday and Wednesday, once any early mist and fog patches clear. However, we may see the increasing chance of outbreaks of showery rain affecting south-western parts during Tuesday. Becoming more unsettled generally across the UK from Wednesday onwards. The most unsettled conditions are likely to be across north-western parts, where it will be wet and windy at times, with gales in places. Meanwhile, much of southern and eastern parts will hold onto the driest conditions, although even here some rain and windier conditions are likely. Temperatures will stay generally rather warm, and frosts becoming less likely. The start of April will see a good deal of settled and dry weather across the UK, with unsettled conditions likely in the northwest.

Much of this period will see a good deal of settled and dry weather across the UK. However, such unsettled spells of weather are likely to be short-lived. Temperatures are likely to be warmer than average, but with rather chilly nights at times, with frost and fog in places. Any colder spells are likely to be short-lived, although there slight indications these may be more prevalent later in the month.

UK Outlook for Saturday 1 Apr 2017 to Monday 10 Apr 2017:

This weekend will start bright and breezy with showers, particularly on Saturday, these turning heavy and thundery in places. By Sunday it should turn drier for all, with some good spells of sunshine. Rain may spill into the southwest later in the day but for all the weekend will feel cooler than this week, with overnight frosts possible. By early next week, high pressure will begin to build in from the southwest bringing drier, brighter weather with some sunny spells, particularly in the southeast. Meanwhile the northwest is likely to remain unsettled with spells of rain or showers and strong winds at times, but there will be some drier interludes too. Feeling warm in any spring sunshine, particularly in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 11 Apr 2017 to Tuesday 25 Apr 2017:

Much of this period will see a good deal of settled and dry weather across the UK. We are however likely to see unsettled conditions with cloud, rain and strong winds particularly affecting the far north and west of the UK at times. Such unsettled spells of weather are expected to be short-lived though. Temperatures are likely to be warmer than average, but with rather chilly nights at times, leading to frost and fog in places. UK Outlook for Sunday 2 Apr 2017 to Tuesday 11 Apr 2017:

After a cold start to Sunday it should turn drier for all, with some good spells of sunshine. We could see the cloud thicken from the west later, with some rain in the far northwest. By early next week, high pressure will begin to build in from the southwest bringing drier, brighter weather with some sunny spells, particularly in the south. It'll stay more unsettled in the northwest however, and it will be windy here, with the risk of coastal gales later in the period. There will be some drier interludes here also though. It will also feel warm in any spring sunshine, particularly in the south and east. It may then turn more generally unsettled later in the period.

UK Outlook for Monday 3 Apr 2017 to Wednesday 12 Apr 2017:

Monday is likely to be cloudy with bands of rain and strong winds in the north-west. These may well spread into central areas later in the day. However, the south-eastern half of the UK will probably stay dry all day with sunny spells. Temperatures will stay above normal everywhere and it is likely to be warm in the east. By midweek, high pressure will become more dominant and the dry, bright weather will spread to the whole country for a few days. Winds will be light nearly everywhere. The best of the sunshine and the warmest temperatures will be in the south, with more cloud in the north. More changeable weather will probably become established by the start of the following week, especially in the north-west.

The middle of April may see more unsettled conditions for a while with short periods of cloud, rain and strong winds particularly affecting the north and west of the UK. Dry and calm conditions are more likely to dominate, especially in the south and later in the month. Temperatures are expected to be warmer than average, but with rather chilly nights at times, leading to frost in a few places. UK Outlook for Tuesday 4 Apr 2017 to Thursday 13 Apr 2017:

Tuesday will be largely cloudy but rather warm, with some light and patchy rain, but it will become drier and brighter by Wednesday, although cooler. By midweek, high pressure will become more dominant and the dry, bright weather will spread across much of country for a few days, with light winds. The greatest risk of thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain will be in the northwest, and the best of the sunshine and the warmest temperatures will be in the south. A good deal of settled and dry weather is then likely, especially in the south where it will be warm. More changeable weather will affect the northwest especially though, with some rain and strong winds at times.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 5 Apr 2017 to Friday 14 Apr 2017:

High pressure will be influencing most if not all of the UK at the start of this period, bringing plenty of dry and increasingly sunny weather. The exception to this is the far north and south which may be cloudy and damp at first. However, with the strong spring sunshine any early mist and fog will clear quickly and it will become rather warm by day, although the nights may still be chilly at times. Towards the end of this period we may start to see more changeable weather spreading in from the west. However any rain and stronger winds are more likely to be in the west and north-west, with a predominantly dry weather continuing across the south.

UK Outlook for Monday 17 Apr 2017 to Monday 1 May 2017:

Changeable and slightly colder weather is likely through the middle of April, with outbreaks of rain or showers, turning wintry at times, and stronger winds especially towards the north and west. However, drier and brighter weather is more likely to dominate across the south and this should then extend to most areas as we head through towards the end of the month and into the beginning of May. Nevertheless, occasionally wetter spells cannot be completely ruled out, with this risk mainly around the peripheries of the UK. Overall, after a colder interlude, temperatures are expected to return to average or perhaps warmer than average for the rest of this period, although we may see some chilly nights, with occasional frosts.

UK Outlook for Saturday 8 Apr 2017 to Monday 17 Apr 2017:

A fine and dry start to the weekend is most likely with some sunny spells and temperatures above-average. These fine conditions will probably be slowly replaced by cloud and outbreaks of rain spreading into the north-west through Sunday, with cooler conditions to follow, and strengthening winds further north. There is some uncertainty but the favoured scenario next week is for cloud and outbreaks of rain to push further south across the UK, turning colder and showery. Heavier showers and snow are possible in the far north, while the south could be drier but still with a chance of rain; generally becoming windier through the period. This colder spell is unlikely to last long as a return of milder Atlantic air is expected to re-establish itself later in the period.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 18 Apr 2017 to Tuesday 2 May 2017:

There are some signals for blocked or slow moving weather patterns to affect the UK through the second half of April. This gives a slight bias towards settled, relatively dry weather to become more dominant later in the month with above-average temperatures more likely with this scenario. However there is low confidence for this synoptic setup.

UK Outlook for Sunday 9 Apr 2017 to Tuesday 18 Apr 2017:

High pressure is likely to dominate south-eastern parts of the UK during the start of the period with continuing dry and fine conditions by day and chilly nights leading to early fog patches. In contrast, the north-west could be increasingly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and strengthening winds. These more unsettled and cooler conditions are likely to spread slowly across the UK but with some uncertainty as to timings. Through mid week we are likely to see quite unsettled, and at times windier weather with bands of rain or showers perhaps affecting all parts for a time, with some brief drier interludes likely. The end of the period is very uncertain but milder conditions from the Atlantic may return, leading to temperatures recovering.

UK Outlook for Monday 10 Apr 2017 to Wednesday 19 Apr 2017:

More unsettled and cooler conditions are likely to spread slowly across the UK through the early part of the week, but with some uncertainty as to timings. Showery rain may still be clearing south-eastern counties at first but elsewhere there will be a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers to begin with. More persistent rain may spread eastwards through Tuesday, though south-eastern parts may well stay dry. Through mid week we are likely to see quite unsettled, and at times windier weather with bands of rain or showers perhaps affecting northern areas, with more in the way of drier conditions in the south. The end of the period is very uncertain but milder conditions from the Atlantic may return, leading to temperatures recovering.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 11 Apr 2017 to Thursday 20 Apr 2017:

After a frosty start, cloud and rain will spread into north-western parts on Tuesday, most likely to continuing to move southwards through Wednesday, with a mix of sunshine and showers following for some, with some showers turning wintry at times over northern hills. Meanwhile, Thursday will see sunny spells and occasional showers spread to all parts. Looking ahead to the weekend, we are likely to see quite unsettled, and at times windier weather affecting some parts of the UK, with bands of rain or showers affecting northern areas, but more in the way of drier conditions in the south. The end of the period is looking very uncertain, but milder conditions from the Atlantic may return, allowing temperatures to recover.

Outbreaks of rain are most likely to move southwards across the UK through Wednesday, with a mix of sunshine and showers following for some with gales in the north. Meanwhile, Thursday will see sunny spells and occasional showers spread to all parts, turning wintry in the north. Looking ahead to the Easter weekend, we are likely to see a mixture of weather with some settled spells, but also some bands of rain or showers affecting mainly northern areas, wintry over the hills. However, there will probably be more in the way of drier conditions in the south. The end of the period is looking very uncertain, but after a colder few days, milder conditions from the Atlantic may return, allowing temperatures to recover.

There are some signals for blocked or slow moving weather patterns to affect the UK through the latter part of April and into early May leading to shorter-lived changeable spells. However, there is a slight bias towards settled, relatively dry weather becoming more dominant later in the period with above-average temperatures more likely to accompany this scenario.
