UK Outlook for Tuesday 23 Apr 2013 to Thursday 2 May 2013:

Largely unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain across the UK. Initially the rain will be heaviest and most persistent across the north and west, and showers may turn wintry at times across northwestern hills. The south and east of the country will see the best of the dry and bright weather with some spells of sunshine. At first temperatures will generally be near or just below normal across the north and west but perhaps rather warm in brighter interludes in the south and east. Later next week and into the following week, the unsettled weather in the northwest will probably spread southeast to all parts. Temperatures will become rather cold or cold in all areas with overnight frosts probably becoming more widespread.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 May 2013 to Friday 17 May 2013:

Current indications suggest unsettled weather will continue into the first week of May. In the absence of any strong signals for trends in precipitation through the start of the month, it is most likely that there will be periods of rain or showers, particularly across northern parts, but also drier and brighter interludes, especially in the south. Temperatures will be generally near average, if not slightly below. During the latter part of the period, there are suggestions that the weather turns more settled across the UK, with below average rainfall and more sunshine. As a result, temperatures are likely to recover somewhat, and it may turn warm in places.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 24 Apr 2013 to Friday 3 May 2013:

Much of southern, eastern and central UK expected to be fine and dry with some pleasantly warm bright or sunny spells during the middle of next week. To the north and west conditions will then be cloudier with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. A change to cooler and generally more unsettled conditions is then expected to develop late next week and persist through the weekend onwards into early May. During this period conditions will often be quite windy and unsettled with showers or longer outbreaks of rain, particularly to the north and west. Also a chance of showers over Scottish hills turning wintry at times. Temperatures from late next week then below average for many, so feeling much cooler than of late. Also then an increased risk of overnight frost.

UK Outlook for Saturday 4 May 2013 to Saturday 18 May 2013:

There are signs that the relatively cool and unsettled conditions thought most likely to affect the UK during late April will give way to a somewhat more settled, easterly weather type during early May which will then probably prevail into the middle of the month. Given that sea surface temperatures in the North Sea are currently well below normal this would leave eastern and northeastern areas colder than average, whilst daytime temperatures to the west and northwest would most likely be above average. Meanwhile, a more settled type developing also increases the chances of below average rainfall amounts, especially in western and northwestern regions.

UK Outlook for Thursday 25 Apr 2013 to Saturday 4 May 2013:

A change to colder and more unsettled conditions is likely later next week, after recent relatively warm and fine weather in some southeastern parts. Bands of rain and brisk winds spreading from the north and west will gradually ease as they move southeast. Brighter, but colder and more showery weather should then follow into the weekend, leading to a much cooler feel than of late, with an increased risk of local frost. This changeable weather should then prevail to the end of April, with scattered showers or spells of rain, again, particularly affecting the northwest. During this period northern hills may see showers turning wintry at times. Probably becoming less cold into May, with drier conditions increasingly likely, especially in the west.

UK Outlook for Monday 6 May 2013 to Monday 20 May 2013:

There are signs that the relatively cool and unsettled conditions will have given way to somewhat more settled weather around or just before the start of this period, with an easterly weather type during early May which will then probably prevail into the middle of the month. Given that the North Sea is colder than normal for spring, this would leave eastern and northeastern areas colder than average, whilst daytime temperatures to the west and northwest would most likely be above average. Meanwhile, a more settled type developing also increases the chances of below average rainfall amounts, especially in western and northwestern regions, with near or above average sunshine.

UK Outlook for Friday 26 Apr 2013 to Sunday 5 May 2013:

A change to colder, more unsettled conditions is likely late this week. Bright but showery weather should chase milder conditions with cloud and rain away southeastwards into the weekend, leading to a generally colder feel than of late, with an increased risk of local frost overnight. Sunny spells between the showers, but some of the showers will be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder, as well as snow on hills. Changeable and at times breezy weather should then prevail to the end of April, with scattered showers or spells of rain, particularly affecting the northwest. During this period northern hills may still see wintry showers at times. Probably becoming less cold into the beginning of May, with less frost as well as a greater likelihood of drier conditions.

UK Outlook for Saturday 27 Apr 2013 to Monday 6 May 2013:

Most areas will be dry and bright at first this weekend but a band of cloud and rain is expected to move southeastwards across the UK during Saturday and Sunday. Colder, more unsettled weather will follow in behind this band of rain, and it is likely to remain unsettled for much of the rest of April. As a result most areas will see sunny spells and showers, and some of the showers could be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. It will also be breezy at times. Temperatures are likely to be colder than normal for the time of year with a chance of overnight frosts, especially in rural areas. There are signs of warmer, more settled conditions becoming established across the UK at the beginning of May.

There are signs that the relatively cool and unsettled conditions will have given way to somewhat more settled weather around or just before the start of this period, with an easterly weather type during early May which will then probably prevail into the middle of the month. Given that the North Sea is colder than normal for spring, this will leave eastern and northeastern coasts colder than average, whilst further inland daytime temperatures will most likely be around average, and perhaps a little above average in the west and northwest. UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Apr 2013 to Tuesday 7 May 2013:

Largely fine and dry for most places on Sunday, however cloud with outbreaks of rain is set to move in from the north-west across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. There is a risk of heavy rain in the far south on Monday, elsewhere there will be sunny spells and showers. Most of the showers will be in the north and west, and some of these may be heavy and could be wintry especially over high ground. It is set to remain unsettled, with sunny spells and showers, through next week. Temperatures are likely to be colder than normal bringing a chance of overnight frosts, especially in rural areas. There are signs of warmer, more settled conditions becoming established across the UK towards the end of the period.

UK Outlook for Monday 29 Apr 2013 to Wednesday 8 May 2013:

Periods of rain over northern parts are set to turn more showery through Monday with sunny spells. The showers could be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder, and snow may accumulate at times on high ground. Drier and brighter further south however there is a risk of cloud and more persistent rain in southeastern areas by the middle of next week. Strong winds are likely at times with a risk of gales in northwestern parts. Remaining unsettled through much of next week, with sunshine and showers, which could still be wintry over northern hills. Generally colder than normal bringing a risk of overnight frosts, especially in rural areas. There are then signs of it gradually turning warmer and more settled towards the end of the period.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 30 Apr 2013 to Thursday 9 May 2013:

Much of the UK expected to have a mixture of sunshine and showers throughout next week. The heaviest showers likely across northern areas at first, but most parts likely to see some heavy showers by the middle of the week. There is also a low risk of a spell of more prolonged and heavy rain reaching the far south and southeast for a time. Temperatures generally on the cold side with a risk of ground frosts in any clearer interludes overnight. During the Bank Holiday weekend, conditions are likely to become drier and more settled, initially across the south but likely to spread to all parts later that weekend. Temperatures rather cold initially, but recovering to near normal in the south and perhaps warm by the end of the period.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 1 May 2013 to Friday 10 May 2013:

An unsettled start to May is expected in many central and northern areas with some longer spells of rain and even hill snow in the far north. Some southeastern areas will probably be mainly dry at this stage with some sunny spells, but even here there is a risk of some cloudier spells with more patchy rain. Temperatures will be generally rather cold with overnight ground frosts still likely. However daytime temperatures may reach close to average in any sunnier interludes in the southeast. Heading into the first full week of May there is an increasing likelihood of drier and more settled conditions spreading to many parts of the UK, with daytime temperatures perhaps becoming warm at times towards the east and southeast.

Updated this as Stewart hasn't done it

UK Outlook for Saturday 11 May 2013 to Saturday 25 May 2013:

The middle of May is most likely to see dry and settled conditions prevail across much of the UK. However, given that the North Sea is expected to be colder than normal for May, this will leave eastern coasts colder than average. Further inland, daytime temperatures will most likely be around or just below average, but perhaps a little above in the west in any prolonged spells of sunshine. Towards the end of the period it may well turn more unsettled with an increased chance of rain and showers, with temperatures still rather cold for May.

At least those of us in the West will get around too seeing some warmth and sunshine, for a time at least.

UK Outlook for Thursday 2 May 2013 to Saturday 11 May 2013:

An unsettled and rather windy start to May in the northwest with showers or longer spells of rain, and hill snow in the far north, but also some brighter interludes. Perhaps some showers in the far southeast on Thursday, with sunny periods elsewhere. There is an increasing risk that the unsettled conditions with rain will spread southeastwards to all parts through Friday. Temperatures mainly near normal, though overnight ground frosts still likely. During the weekend, cloud and rain should clear to give sunny spells and showers, most likely in the north. Heading into the first full week of May there is an increasing likelihood that drier and brighter conditions will spread to most parts of the UK, with daytime temperatures perhaps becoming warm in land.

UK Outlook for Monday 13 May 2013 to Monday 27 May 2013:

Probably a good deal of dry and bright weather overall, but some unsettled spells perhaps particularly later in the month. Winds will often be from the northeast and given that the North Sea is expected to be colder than normal for May, this will leave eastern coasts colder than average. Away from coasts, daytime temperatures will most likely be around or just below average, but perhaps a little above in any prolonged spells of sunshine.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 May 2013 to Sunday 12 May 2013:

Unsettled and rather cold initially, especially in the northwest, with showers or longer spells of rain, and hill snow in the far north. The best of any drier and brighter weather more likely towards the southeast. Temperatures mainly near normal, though overnight ground frosts are still likely. Thereafter, although still rather unsettled, there is a greater chance of more settled conditions as the week progresses and therefore an increasing likelihood that drier and brighter conditions across most parts of the UK. Daytime temperatures should slowly recover to near average, perhaps becoming warm across inland parts, although some overnight frost is still likely. However, with North Sea temperatures below average for May, it is likely to remain rather chilly along eastern coastal districts with easterly winds probable.
