UK Outlook for Wednesday 10 Apr 2013 to Friday 19 Apr 2013:

Starting unsettled and rather windy in southern areas, with occasionally heavy rain and limited brighter intervals. This unsettled weather should bring nearer-normal temperatures here than of late, although it will feel cold in the wind and rain. Meanwhile, further north conditions during mid-week will be colder and should turn increasingly unsettled with bouts of wet weather spreading northwards, giving a risk of some snow, mainly on hills. A quieter spell of weather then looks likely to develop for most areas towards the end of next week, many areas then seeing drier and brighter conditions. By the final week of the period, temperatures should be generally near-normal, perhaps warm at times inland. The north and west will then probably be on the unsettled side whilst the south and east stay drier.

UK Outlook for Sunday 21 Apr 2013 to Sunday 5 May 2013:

Current indications suggest conditions during the latter part of April and early May being fairly typical for the time of year. This would leave temperatures often nearer average, though given colder than average seas, coastal areas may be quite chilly whenever sea breezes occur. Meanwhile, during any settled spells the risk of overnight ground frost is, perhaps, slightly greater than average. Unsettled, changeable conditions probably still affecting some northern and western parts early in this forecast period. Otherwise, in the absence of any strong signals for trends in precipitation for late April into early May, nearer average rainfall amounts are considered most likely.

UK Outlook for Thursday 11 Apr 2013 to Saturday 20 Apr 2013:

Generally unsettled and often rather windy at first, with occasionally heavy rain, perhaps hill snow in the north, and limited brighter intervals. This unsettled weather should bring nearer normal temperatures than recently in southern Britain, although it will still feel cold in the wind and rain, but still below average further north. A quieter spell of weather then looks likely to develop for most areas this weekend, with drier and brighter conditions for a time. Into the following week, central, southern and eastern parts of the UK should keep the largely dry and fine conditions with temperatures near normal, perhaps occasionally warm inland. The north and west, on the other hand, will probably turn more changeable again, with wind and rain at times and temperatures close to average for mid-April.

UK Outlook for Friday 12 Apr 2013 to Sunday 21 Apr 2013:

Rain will clear on Friday to leave largely dry conditions through the day and for the start of Saturday, before rain and strengthening winds spread across most areas by the end of the day. By Sunday, it will be unsettled across all parts, with showers or longer spells of rain, locally heavy, and generally strong winds. It will feel rather cold, especially in the wind and rain. Through much of the following week, it will remain unsettled with rain or showers accompanied by mostly strong winds, but there should also be some brighter and clearer periods and temperatures will be closer to the seasonal average. By the end of the period, southern and eastern areas are likely to turn rather sunnier, and it may also turn warmer at times inland.

UK Outlook for Saturday 13 Apr 2013 to Monday 22 Apr 2013:

Some parts of the UK will probably start the weekend fine and dry, before rain and strengthening winds spread across most areas. The rain is likely to be heavy at times, especially in the north and west and will be preceded by hill snow in the north. Clearer but showery conditions will then follow on Sunday. Heading into next week, it will remain unsettled with rain or showers accompanied by strong winds at times, however in between there should also be some brighter and clearer periods. Temperatures are expected to be closer to the seasonal average and perhaps locally warm in any sunnier interludes. By the end of the period, southern and eastern areas are likely to turn rather sunnier, and it may also turn warmer at times inland.

UK Outlook for Sunday 14 Apr 2013 to Tuesday 23 Apr 2013:

Dry, fine and locally warm conditions in the east on Sunday will be replaced by cloudy conditions with outbreaks of rain then showers spreading from the west early next week. Rain may be heavy in the north and west with strong winds. The remainder of next week will be unsettled with rain or showers accompanied by strong winds at times, however in between there should be drier, sunny spells. Southern and eastern parts are most likely to be driest with the best of the sunshine and becoming warm inland as a result, otherwise temperatures during this period will be around average with nights milder than of late. A northwest-southeast split in the weather is likely to continue into the following week; the most changeable weather in the north and west.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 16 Apr 2013 to Thursday 25 Apr 2013:

Unsettled at first with rain or showers accompanied by strong winds at times, however in between there should be drier, sunny spells. UK Outlook for Wednesday 17 Apr 2013 to Friday 26 Apr 2013:

Unsettled to begin, with strong winds and bands of rain moving northeastwards across the country, interspersed with sunshine and scattered showers. Most of the rain will be across northwestern areas where temperatures are likely to be around average, whilst southern and eastern parts are more likely to be drier with temperatures above average. It should eventually become less windy with time too. Frost will be limited, although an increasing risk of patchy frost later in the period for northern and central parts. A northwest-southeast split in the weather is most likely to continue during the following week; the most changeable weather in the north and west, while southern and eastern parts should see a reasonable amount of dry and bright weather with temperatures generally a little above average.

UK Outlook for Thursday 18 Apr 2013 to Saturday 27 Apr 2013:

The weather looks to remain changeable for most parts of the UK with occasional weather systems approaching from the Atlantic, with little in the way of cold weather expected and minimal overnight frosts. The north is most likely to see these unsettled and changeable conditions with occasionally strong winds, but even here the unsettled weather should be interspersed with occasional brighter conditions with scattered showers. Temperatures up here should remain around normal for the time of year. Meanwhile further south, there is a greater chance of seeing more in the way of drier and warmer weather through the period, especially in the southeast, and less of the wetter conditions, however some cloud and showery rain is still likely at times here.

UK Outlook for Friday 19 Apr 2013 to Sunday 28 Apr 2013:

Fine for many areas on Friday and Saturday with some sunny spells. There will be some scattered showers on Friday, however, particularly across the north and west. By Saturday, cloudier conditions with more persistent rain are likely to reach northern and western parts later. It will be windy at first but winds should ease, with daytime temperatures close to average and feeling fairly warm in the sunshine. Thereafter, conditions look likely to become more unsettled with rain in the northwest spreading to all areas. Showers or longer spells of rain will be interspersed with brighter conditions. Rain will be heaviest and most frequent in the northwest with the risk of gales at times here. Daytime temperatures will be close to average but locally rather warm in the south and east.

Fine and sunny for many areas on Saturday, although it will be cloudier and windier in northwestern areas with outbreaks of rain affecting parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland at times. UK Outlook for Sunday 21 Apr 2013 to Tuesday 30 Apr 2013:

Largely fine and sunny at first on Sunday but rain across the west will spread eastwards, although probably not reaching the far southeast until later on Monday. Through Monday, rain in the far northwest may turn heavy and persistent. Winds light at first but turning windier later. Daytime temperatures will be mostly near normal but it may be rather warm towards the south and east. Thereafter unsettled and windy with persistent rain interspersed with brighter but showery spells. Northern and western areas will see the heaviest rain with gales in exposure, but it should be drier and brighter further south and east. Whilst temperatures will generally be near normal, it may be rather warm in Spring sunshine across southeastern parts but rather cold in wind and rain in the north.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 1 May 2013 to Wednesday 15 May 2013:

Current indications suggest fairly typical spring weather will continue into the start of May. In the absence of any strong signals for trends in precipitation through the start of the month, it is most likely that there there will be periods of rain or showers, particularly across northern and western parts, but also drier and brighter interludes, especially in the south and east. Temperatures will be generally near average, if not slightly below, particularly across coastal areas, but it may turn warmer, especially inland, in any sunnier spells. During the latter part of the period, there are suggestions that the weather turns more settled across the UK, with below average rainfall and more sunshine. As a result, temperatures are likely to recover somewhat, and it may turn warm in places.

UK Outlook for Monday 22 Apr 2013 to Wednesday 1 May 2013:

Largely unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain across the UK. The rain will be heaviest and most persistent across the north and west, and showers may turn wintry at times across northwestern hills. The south and east of the country will see the best of the dry and bright weather with some spells of sunshine. Through the start of the period, temperatures will generally be near normal but a little below in the wind and rain across the north and west but occasionally rather warm in any brighter interludes in the south and east. Later next week and into the following week, temperatures will tend to fall below normal in most places, and possibly rather cold in the north and west with some overnight frosts.
