UK Outlook for Friday 22 Mar 2013 to Sunday 31 Mar 2013:

Turning much more unsettled towards the southwest on Friday, with cloudy, wet and windy conditions then spreading slowly northeastwards into central parts of the UK later Friday, whilst turning increasingly to snow. These conditions continue northwards through the weekend, with the risk then of significant snow over central and northern areas, though the far northeast may remain brighter, with just occasional snow showers. Generally cold with overnight frost, though temperatures perhaps returning nearer normal in the south. After next weekend, the rest of March is likely to remain unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain, heaviest towards the southwest. Further snow is likely at times in central and northern areas. Temperatures remaining nearer normal to the southwest but below average for many other areas, especially the northeast.

Another subtle change of wording there from the Met' Office. A day or so ago they seemed to think the cold air would be pushed away from all but the far north east of Britain whereas now the thinking seems to be that it will hold on from the Midlands northward.

Some excellent snow potential for my back yard at least.

UK Outlook for Saturday 23 Mar 2013 to Monday 1 Apr 2013:

Turning more unsettled for this weekend and next week, with cloudy, wet and windy weather affecting most areas at times, although the far northeast may remain brighter with a few snow showers at first. In central and northern regions of the UK, snow is likely for a time this weekend, with a risk of blizzards in strong easterly winds. Through the last days of March and the beginning of April, it is likely to remain changeable with showers or longer spells of rain for most, generally heaviest towards the southwest. Further snow is possible at times in central and northern areas and it will often be windy, especially towards the north and west. Temperatures will tend to remain below average, but perhaps gradually return nearer to normal in southern Britain.

UK Outlook for Sunday 24 Mar 2013 to Tuesday 2 Apr 2013:

Wet and windy weather affecting most areas at times at the start of the period, with snow likely across Scotland and perhaps northern England, mainly accumulating on hills with a risk of blizzards in strong easterly winds. Temperatures here likely to be well below normal for the time of year, but slightly milder in the south with temperatures initially around average, but getting colder again later in the week. Conditions look to remain changeable, but perhaps less unsettled into the weekend and the start of April. Further snow is possible at times in central and northern areas as bands of rain try to push the colder air away from the UK, with a signal that temperatures should eventually recover in most areas to around normal for the time of year.

And look at the 15-30 day, remaining colder than average for the north, and wetter than average for the south. We desperately need some dry weather here, the fields are back under water again and that was a result of not a huge amount of rainfall. The water table is just so high still. And when the fields did emerge for about a month they were in a right state.

UK Outlook for Monday 25 Mar 2013 to Wednesday 3 Apr 2013:

Breezy and very cold for the time of year into the new week, but a lot of dry weather with a mixture of variable cloud, snow showers in northern parts especially, and sunny intervals, the best of these in the west and northwest. There will be a marked windchill too with fresh easterly winds, and temperatures are likely to be well below normal in all areas. Conditions look to turn more changeable thereafter. Further rain probably reaching the south later in the week may turn to snow further north as it tries to push the colder air away from the UK. There is a signal that temperatures may eventually recover to around normal in the south into the following week, but with further rain at times.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 26 Mar 2013 to Thursday 4 Apr 2013:

Largely dry on Tuesday and Wednesday with some sunny spells by day, particularly towards the west. Some sleet or showers are still possible in the east but these should be mostly light. Staying generally cold or very cold with widespread overnight frosts. Turning more unsettled towards the end of next week, with rain, locally heavy, spreading into southwestern areas and turning to sleet or snow as it moves northwards, giving further snow accumulations in places. Cold or very cold at first, but temperatures recovering to nearer normal across southern areas by Easter Saturday. Thereafter, conditions look likely to turn less cold across most parts but also more unsettled, with rain or showers, particularly in the south and west. Windy at times with still a snow risk in the north.

Cold or very cold at first, but temperatures recovering to nearer normal across southern areas during Easter weekend. Thereafter, conditions look likely to turn less cold across most parts, but with rain or showers, particularly in the south and west. Windy at times with a snow risk continuing in the north, especially on high ground.

Southern parts of the UK are likely to be unsettled with rainfall amounts possibly above average, especially at first. Temperatures starting off around average, but may fall below normal towards the middle of April, although it will probably be less cold than recently. Further north, and particularly in the north east, colder than average conditions are likely from the start, with a risk of overnight frosts. UK Outlook for Thursday 28 Mar 2013 to Saturday 6 Apr 2013:

Many areas starting dry with some sunny spells, though still a few snow showers possible in the east. Cloudier, windier and more unsettled conditions are then likely to spread slowly north or northeastwards into and across a good deal of the UK during Easter Weekend. Risk then of this wet weather starting off as snow away from southern and southwestern UK. Meanwhile, northern and northeastern UK may well escape this wet weather and instead remain drier and brighter over Easter. Generally cold for the time of year later next week and through Easter Weekend, southern parts perhaps then slowly turning less cold though. Looking ahead into early April, conditions are most likely to be on the unsettled side, especially to the south and west, with below average temperatures for many.

Jesus, not a whiff of warmth or sunshine there, right through to 6th of April now.

Patiently waiting for warmth and thunderstorms.

Only sunshine mentioned there is for northern and northeastern parts so for me that would mean a sunny but chilly Easter weekend

UK Outlook for Sunday 7 Apr 2013 to Sunday 21 Apr 2013:

Southern parts of the UK are likely to be unsettled with rainfall amounts possibly above average, especially at first. Temperatures here then close to or just below average through much of this period, though probably not as cold as conditions currently are. Further north, and particularly in the northeast, colder than average conditions with often frosty nights are likely from the start. Rainfall amounts then probably close to or below average at first with further snowfall possible, mainly on hills and mountains. Signs, then, of conditions here turning more unsettled later.

UK Outlook for Friday 29 Mar 2013 to Sunday 7 Apr 2013:

Many areas starting dry and cold with some sunny spells, though a few snow showers possible, mainly in the north. Cloudier, windier and more unsettled conditions are then likely to spread across southern areas, slowly heading northeastwards during the Easter Weekend into some more central parts of the UK. This rain may be preceded by snow, heavy at times. Meanwhile, northern and northeastern areas may well escape this wet weather, and instead remain drier and brighter over Easter, but still very cold with scattered snow showers. Into the start of April, cloud and rain or snow in the south will tend to ease, with some sunny spells developing for many, though further snow showers in the east. Temperatures still below average, but perhaps a little less cold than at present.

UK Outlook for Saturday 30 Mar 2013 to Monday 8 Apr 2013:

Many areas starting dry and cold with variable cloud and some sunny spells, though with a few light snow showers, mainly in the northeast. The far southwest will probably be cloudier with some rain or drizzle, and this may then start to spread northeastwards into other southern and western areas later in the weekend, perhaps turning to sleet or snow for a time. Remaining cold, with widespread overnight frost and icy patches. Into the start of April, there is a good deal of uncertainty, but it looks like remaining generally more unsettled towards the southwest, at least to begin with, further snow showers towards the northeast, and remaining on the cold side, particularly cold in the north and east, though perhaps a little less cold in the more unsettled southwest.
