Ok everyone here , sleep well , in the morning a big day for the weathermodels.

Look some nice charts from the WMC Moskou model. post-18788-0-71124200-1360369626_thumb.ppost-18788-0-71124200-1360369626_thumb.p post-18788-0-71124200-1360369626_thumb.p

I will try to come back in the morning, love you UK xxx.

Ryan you are great for this thread, please dont stop your post on here, i have never seen such hope and all the models you quote. i see the express have the uk in another "day after tomorrow" period, if only the express did weather models they would probably be the carlsberg of weather models........

You have got to love the CFS for it's continued love affair with deep cold in march!! It's been showing this time and time again and will be interesting to see how things develop.

Meanwhile... The daily express are at it again.... http://www.express.c...e-next-48-hours

Fierce 80mph arctic winds, a virtual whiteout and a foot of snow??? LOL

Likely the only white stuff we will see will be a pinch of saltblum.gifblum.gif

finally, my dream man lolol... Could'nt agree more, this place has deterioated into bbc snow watch status, if it dont show cold you're not welcome (take note readcoats!). Same old falsely optimistic carp day in day out from the so called "experienced posters. I'm not a professional but I am a qualified meteorologist, 99% of the time I resist posting my constructive opinions here for the fear of the "will you run the forum for us then hotshot" attitude from the decade plus members on here, yes sad I know but I feel my time spent here in recent weeks is of little practical use anymore.

Ric.

Go live in Glasgow then and dont post on here, i find many of the experienced posters on here are a great help when trying to learn about reading models etc, if you dont like this thread then take the option to not come in here and let the newbies learn from the experienced posters who give a lot of time and effort to this thread and whom without this thread would not be worth coming onto....

Steve M posted earlier the 850-1000 thickness charts from 06z run Friday for 6am Sunday as very rough hint at snow line. Look at 12z and 18z for same time and correction sw. 50 miles in 12 hours of runs. Doesn't mean either run is correct but..that's why in heavily populated country small shifts can be significant difference.

Just got in from a great night out and a few beers, come to view the charts and see whats happening in the model chat to get a wider picture - wished i hadn't bothered. Austin Powers' Goldmember having to use Mickey Mouse models to keep up his ramp, other random tripe from others, one liners from 'Mods' and still no wiser on the wider picture lol I'll see whats happening on the Eastern seaboard with Steve's post and link because that's the only thing worth viewing on here atm! Hopefully good viewing for all tomorrow!

Time for a hot toddy and a good night all! smile.png

ps what's happening in the charts as am none the wiser.......................

One direction number 1..sorry thats about the level of the MOD thread tonightlaugh.png

Agree this plaice was much better when we had the Fish weather warning night, we all had a laugh and none of this sniping was going on. yes i may have had a few digs at certain post tonight but only because im so angry that this great thread is being let down by some of the post from trolls etc.

Pretty much this, either we keep undercutting lows and hopefully we remain under the influence of high pressure to the north, or the azores high ridges north east and captures the heights to the north east and collapses the ridge somewhere close to the uk. Either cold and potentially wintry with further risk of snow or dry and at times cold weather but with the risk of milder weather infiltrating the flow round the uk.

Frankly I suggest to meteociel and wetter that after the weather events for the last year I recommend the modelling of the azores high should be replaced by this....

Having seen the latest models and I still see little evidence of HLB as was considered by by the strat boil in consequence from other years when we had HLB without strat warming. Do we need to think that there is a another major player at work in the atmosphere. When you trawl through some of the archives many cold winters were seeminglly domnated by low pressure systems that were considerably much further south of where they are in todays scenarios. They therefore seemed to feed into HLB at a higher latitude making it easier to advect cold into more southerly areas. It may be a load of twaddle but seems to me that for instance channel lows swept across the atlantic at the same latitude and did not rely on having to slide for an effect.

Just a thought! any takers?

I'm still stuck on whether that's a real map from Brazil, or just an X-ray of neanderthal man's head.

I'm still expecting some cold weather, also checking my records to see how much of a refund is owing, so far, figure appears to be zero.

If you could arrange for the island to be towed a bit closer to North Pole, that might help.

Well you need everything to fall right living in Dorchester, but yes we know that generally over the last 25 years HLB in winter has become pretty scarce, the principal exceptions being the Feb 91 spell, 95/96 and 2010/11.

Roger, forget the flippancy, you have made a forecast for retrogression or retrograde, are you still backing that scenario for late Feb or not ?

Hi Rog, any idea what happened to our snow hurricane, so far, here it has been no more dangerous than soft porn.

No doubt about it, just ask the surfers on the channel coasts who used to have months of ground swell generated by southerly tracking LPs to look forward to each winter.
