On the north west coast of Arran the sun has gone and the rain has started again after over 2 inches fell yesterday.

Just back sledging with my little girl, I'm glad we got at least one more day out of the snow. But I can't help feeling a bit sad as I don't want the snow to go :( Sorry pics are the wrong way?

Along similar theme to other posts, a really great day. Icy to start but sun got up and it has been nice. I think up to 4C today but not very quick snow loss. The DP's are still sub zero here. Quick walk in the forest above Aberdeen today and still deep cover there and snow soft but not wet. Lovely!

This slow gentle thaw is a good thing, else there may have been some major flooding issues. And it looks like the hills should see some good freeze thaw cycles to consolidate things a bit. Hoping for a cheeky day off next week to nip up to Glenshee.

Temperature reached 6c in the sun today. Now it is 3c here. Temps are dropping. If the cahrts are to be believed between 6pm and midnight the temps will go up to 6c. I will be very interested to see this as at the moment it seems a bit out of kilter.

She's a beauty at 937mb now. See the east coast of UK in relation to size. What a monster. BTW, those high tides/ swell coincide with a full moon on the 27th. Hmm.

Thaw is well and truly on here. I am hoping it's not too quick as the neighbours a few doors up have built 3 snow teddy's and wonderful they are as well. Hopefully I will be able to get a photograph tomorrow.

Seems a lot of hard work when the thaw was well advertised.
