Surprised to wake up and find some 'snow patches' still in the garden after hearing rain in the night!! Sun is out here..............so now are we all back to flicking from the mod thread to here looking for our next cold and snowy spell?............. hopefully not too far away..........

Last night was a poor end to a pretty poor cold spell here. We managed one proper snowfall whilst most of the country saw several. Also, the snow we did get lasted about a day before it thawed rapidly. Hopefully February will bring something better!

maybe a cm of new snow on top of what we all ready had melting fast come on the thaw i now say as the ancient snow has compacted to sheet ice in some

side roads pavements and its not best time to get rid and hope for a re load in a few weeks.

Morning all,

I was fully prepared to look out this morning and see green grass but there is actually a surprising amount of snow still here given that last night was mostly sleety rain with a few big blobs of snow mixed in !

It's not going to last long though it's 3 degrees already and blue sky and sunshine....hopefully the slushy stage will be over quickly like Steve it's my least favourite part.

Unless we are going to be lucky enough to see significant snow in February my chosen weather would be days like today, fresh and dry...

Enjoy your weekend folks good.gif

Still cold out there, we had snow but it has settled on ice and making it very slushy, was going to clean the car bit pointless as it is still wet out there and cold still

A balmy 3.7c and feels pleasant actually. GFS won the battle last night. A couple of flakes but that was it. On to February and the hope for something better.

As expected, most lying snow has gone although there are still a few icy stretches, patches of snow and lots of snowman remains! Last night was a disappointment but at least those areas further north had lots of fun out of it.

Glorious blue skies across Brighton and out to sea, the white Georgian terraces gleaming from the sun counterpointed by the clean surf easing its way ashore, the pier in the distance slowly preparing its dubious charms for the day ahead. A thin strip of snow still hugs a fence line on the Downs but its time is up.

Time to head out!

Only cold rain here last night but was fun seeing Northern France getting very heavy snow and was a very good cold spell, best part about today, the sun is out, the endless grey skies were starting to get very depressing.

An hour of snow during the early hours which had started to settle on cars to start with. Still got patches of snow/ice in places. Should all be gone by tomorrow! 3c here

Anyone for a possible cold blast in February? JMA calls for the cold returning........http://www.weatherweb.net/wxwebtvsimonnew.php?ID=613

I guess not too many people are about but ...

Despite nothing last night except a little rain we still have just enough snow to take the kids for their promised sledging today.

However I am thinking of doing a longer trip up to Dunstable downs. Does anyone know if there is still enough pretty snow up their to make the trip worthwhile and if there is a suitable sledging spot?

Thanks
