Temp's rising here, up to -0.8, slowly creeping up. I expect to see a slight thaw a bit later then a refreeze overnight. Snow's stopped for the moment. Looking at the radar, it does look like some showers are moving in a NW direction towards us? Might get some more flurries.

About 4 cm of fresh cover here in the end -- not bad! Still snowing, but very light and "thin" stuff now, and the temperature has crept above zero.

Cant believe this board isnt buzzing - we have as heavy snow now as we have had all year. Thick and big flakes.

Covering the roads straight away. Get ready for school closures if this keeps up much longer

Had about another 5cm on high ground in Dudley overnight. side roads pretty much covered here again! Roads seem fine once I come down off the hill (Turners Hill). Still getting the odd light flurry here at the moment as well.

Looking at the radar, Stourbridge and Wolves going to get plastered very soon. Just slipping past Kiddy sad.png

Yeah, looks that way for Bewdley too, so I know how you feel there. Still, 4 cm is more than I'd expected from this -- apart from being a mostly night event, it's actually been almost as good as Sunday's unexpected fall here!

Think coating on bins and roofs here. Roads too wet to stick and paths looks exactly the same as last night.

What are everyone's thoughts on Friday?

Absolutely belting it down here at the moment, didn't see this coming! Big flakes as well :)

Great stuff - unexpected snow is always the most fun.

Light continuous snow for the last two hours with some heavier bursts. Road salted and clear / slushy. No problems. Just about to clear the drive for a trip into Shrewsbury later. The change on the way looks to be cold zonal. The first front approaching Ireland appears to be slipping south east. The low pressure systems in the north atlantic are having the stuffing sucked out of them over Iceland. Cannot see any mild south westerlies for the weekend. Will be expecting blizzards Friday, followed by brief milder air before turning colder. So long as it stays as snow on the mountains, I dont really give a fig.
