anyone think we are in for a bit of snow later? looks like the tail of the snow may brush these parts if it continues NW. Nice if it just went directly north though.

This is very vague from the MetOffice forecast for the East Midlands

"This Evening and Tonight:

Occasional light snow flurries are possible anywhere through the evening and night but some more persistent snow may affect parts of counties later. Very cold with a hard frost and widespread icy conditions likely. Minimum Temperature -5 °C."

Which counties? All counties? Poor IMO!

Got to travel down to London about 6.30am tomorrow, so would prefer no distruption. I'm presenting at a seminar down in Westminster, so can't cancel!!!

They've updated to state Western counties. I actually don't think they can be more accurate at this time- it's a case of watching the radar for those in West/Central Midlands.

The red dot is Hinckley. The 20.15 puts us right on the edge of the snow front. So close, I can almost smell the snow. A nice little change in direction would be nice right about now ℠⛄ â„

We'll just have to wait and see if it carries on in the north westerly track it's currently on. â„â„â„â„

We are under a green area on the latest radar, and nowt is falling from the sky. Never seen that happen with greens, usually experience it from an advancing front under the blues with low dew points. Heck I can still see the moon for gods sake.

According to radar, snow!

Look out window.. no snow!

Grr. Makes it even worse that i've just seen some seriously impressive video on the news with regards to snow in Somerset and that area, very heavy snow.

Light snow falling - no thaw here today of surfaces without human activity! Didn't make it above freezing - infact warmest its been all day now 0.0C exactly. Freezing Fog until 5-6pm. Now to bed to catch the 6.50am train from Wellingboro to London, so best be light - can't see any other outcome.

Generally light with the odd heavier burst, bearing in mind it reached Bham earlier (according to the Villa game) I'd hope it's continuing to move east so you lot can get some too :)

post-2719-0-81825300-1358894326_thumb.jp

Great day walking in the Peak District yesterday, level snow around 20-30cm with drifts 50-70cm.

Still very light snow, but the flakes are actually of a reasonable size. "Heavier" than it was 15 minutes ago, but I use the term very loosely.
