A cloudy night with a few light snow showers adding 0.5cm of fresh snow; however the snow cover continues to compact faster than any falls are adding to it.

The cloud cleared quite suddenly between 0700 and 0730 and it's now sunny but with patchy fog as areas of St fractus drift across the hills.

In contrast to the last few days it's been a dry and sunny morning; however a sheet of St has spread in from the north east in the last hour and it's now cloudy with a temp', according to the Davis on the house roof, of -1.4c.

Overcast and dry all day, with mist clearing during the morning. Some clear spells overnight led to a sharp frost in the early hours. The slow thaw continued during the daytime and roads round here are now mostly clear, but we still have about 75% snow coverage in the garden to a depth of about 3cm. Currently overcast, 1.4 deg C, wind light NE. Today's maximum 2.0, last night's minimum -4.3.

Clearing skies meant the min came around 09:30 roughly around -2.3C. Davis then reckoned the temp peaked at 1.3C the warmest day since the 16th.

Clear skies gave way to cloud late afternoon preventing temperatures from dropping and allowing the slow thaw to continue.

Slight frost and some sleet and snow showers last night.

Mostly cloudy and very cold today. Sleet then moderate to heavy wet snow 1100 to early afternoon (not sure as I left to work before 1200, but daughters school was closed lunchtime). Don't think it added much if anything though just slush. Further steady thaw of lying snow. Moderate east breeze.

Min: -0.6c @ 0230

Max: 1.8c @ 1100

Rain yesterday: 1mm

Currently: Not there, but radar suggests light sleet or snow.

Temp: +0.5c

RH: 92%

Pressure: 1006mbar, rising slowly.
