Tailed off a bit now but still coming down nicely. Looks like the Pennines are taking the sting out of this band slightly

Heavy, fine snow here all morning. A fresh inch of snow has fallen since last night.

Certainly putting down a covering isn't it Louise!

Wonder where hot cuppa is

He's probably out playing ithe snow we've had overnight! We've had a light covering on top of the melted snow from yesterday but it's turning to dandruff now. Roads and pavements ae slushy but there is a reasonable covering here.

This snow is the proper stuff, sticks to everything. Just been up Runcorn Hills, we have between 3-5cm of fresh snow, still falling & looking at the radar it's going to get VERY heavy in about 10 minutes time. This is very exciting. Temperature is 0.9C though.

Must be cos it's whiteout here :D

nice covering here now,all the trees thick snow on them, roads becoming bad

totally un-forecast for here, why are all the un-forecast events the best

miles better than fridays event.

Any particular reason why the BBC weren't showing the snow in the North West even when it was still falling out the sky?

METO had it all progged to move up the East anyway - looked at the radar yesterday morning to see direction was NW - never thought it would have got over the Pennines / Peak District to the coastal areas like Lytham. - dont give much for the Beeb forecasts even if it is in association with the METO - rather look on here tbh - as for the presenters........

Not sure how useful my weather app is but it's showing snow over us for at least another couple of hours! This is better than Friday :-) Just hope it doesn't melt before my some gets out of school.

next time you might refrain from saying it won't snow or I can't see it happening. it was pretty blatant what was going to happen :p , anyway enjoy the snow, time to try and get to work in leeds.

Woah, I'd take the day off, that's asking for trouble going to Leeds!

Temp up to 1C and dp also above freezing just at 0.2C

Still moderate snow and 8cm so far. Can we get to 10cm radar shows some lighter stuff heading this way?

nah it will be fine. Was going to southampton tonight, but that trip is not worth it due to the uncertainty of whether it will go ahead, the forecast is for snow again, around 5pm last until around 930pm.

We have a depot in Leeds, drivers have not turned up, just the manager, snow is bad up there.

The Met used to issue flash warnings but at the moment they've stuck with their original warnings, and the BBC pretty much broadcast what the Met tell them, wrong or right.

That heavier stuff just to our SE looks interesting, shame it will probably skirt south.

Think that's it for the day here really, we'll probably still get a few flakes like now but nothing worthwhile. Still far from impressed with this cool spell.

If you look off the coast of the Humber - near Grimsby seems to spawn ppn - could do to watch this although slightly too high up to affect the region?

Seems to slow and pivot to a N direction around Ulster meeting a front to the West? - surely not.......
