I think there will be a lot of people 'working from home' or on 'sick leave' tomorrow, but if you do have to go out please drive carefully and for goodness sakes get all the snow off your car before you set off.....

massive flashing to the south. That's no train

Must be, radar shows no precipation of note South of that area. And Croydon has massive potential for huge arcing. Loads of lines, loads of points, loads of "gaps" (where you get flashing in the dry, I know I drove this area!)

Well that sounds interesting.

I thought today was the beginning of the end.

Agree. People driving with their vision that impaired should be taken off the road asap. Madness.

Wow, that was quite something. Went on for ages (in flashing terms!) must have been near Sanderstead/Purley. Didn't think it was thunder but wasn't quite sure what was causing that amount!

Its certainly not lightning my friend, there is no real deep clouds to your South, mainly to your North and East now :-)

Snow beginning to taper off here now. Still going though some 10 hours after it started. Impressive.

I think it's safe to say that the Beeb/Met Office underestimated snow totals today.
