Please use this thread for your regional discussions about the current weather or what is being forecast for the next few hours in London and the South East ..........

Valid from: 1200 on Sun 20 Jan 2013

Valid to: 2359 on Sun 20 Jan 2013

The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel.

This warning has been updated to include more of northeast Wales, the Midlands up to parts of Yorkshire.

Awwww, i dont want to sound sad but, back edge of the precipitation very close to Eastbourne coast now. A slight bit of amplification at the trailing edge of the band going on right now, after that it looks to be creeping up north/north east direction. So some more for you guys to the East and North to come for a good few hours yet. Mustnt grumble, had a few CM here this morning. Next watch for me is the system that could track along the south east coast tomorrow!

Chucking it down here, lucky to be directly under a green patch on the radar. Flakes bigger, quite intense.

Nice moderate snow here. Not sure how much has settled. Going by the balcony wall, I can see a 'sandwich layer' from the old snow to the new. Looks about 50/50.

There is a bit of dripping but only on the metal railings

I'm just hypnotised looking out the window. Just love this.

It's -1C here and the snow is pretty heavy, small flakes.

This is just so distracting. If I'm not gaziing out the window I'm reading this forum or checking the radar and readings. The kitchen's a mess, the washing isn't done, there is snow based outerwear spread around the house, and breakfast is turning into lunch, or even a late afternoon snack, but I just can't help myself! At this rate I won't even make it outside for sledging

Right here's a question - why are Paul Sherman's and Shrimpers (both Southend area) which I can almost see from my house - dewpoints and temps considerably lower than mine? I have 2 gauges, a top of the range hand held Kestrel in a cradle and a British standard dew point thermometer and both reading within 0.1c on temps and 0.2c on dewpoint? Dewpoint here now gone up to -0.8c - something a miss here.

Thurrock Council wasn't overly generous with the grit, some of the main roads round here are being covered.
