How on earth can the BBC breakfast's live weather forecast differ so much from the updated at 08:18 weather forecast on the website....the mind boggles lol

In what way did it differ? I've seen the website forecast but not the live one.

Sleet here in Luton sad.png

Slight thaw too temps only just below 0c! Anyone else seeing this?

sure its not snizzle.? DP's still subzero. i have noticed a few reports of light rain around the se this morning but with dp below zero, i cant really understand them. i just assume the precip is so light it cannot be noted to be of ice. surprised you are seeing a 'thaw'. are you sure some of the snow hasnt just evaporated where it was thinly covered?

The live forecast has east Anglia blanketed in snow...the website really played it down didn't you think?

Defiantly is a slight thaw going on here! I can hear dripping and also the snow on all the cars seems to be thinning where it is now sleeting :( on the plus side we had a fair bit of snow so is still plenty lying on the ground. Slightly confused as to how we are having a bit of a thaw and well the sleet thing is even more confusing lol

Yes. it did seem rather understated! But then the whole forecast seemed a bit rushed to be honest!

Morning all

My snow has all gone flat over night.

Can I order more snow please, about 10-15 cm will do fine.

Was Thomas Shafernacker drunk? Where has he been anyway?

He was certainly very lively

Most recent forcast he was a little bit more controlled but I'm guessing he is one of these forecasters that are a bit of a ramper??..

Just to add snowing lightly here in Ipswich on a supposed 'no snow' day! Lol

Snow here, getting heavier. Dew point -0.5, temperature 0.9oC.

Moderate snow last night too so a covering here, albeit a thin one.

Morning all,

Two of my three clients today have cancelled due to the road conditions here so the downside is the impact on business, but the plus side is I've got more time to get out and enjoy the snow!

Wow those charts for Sunday look amazing, I'm under the pink blob all day yahoo.gif

I have noticed on BBC2 today at 5;30pm there is a winterwatch programme on the big freeze of 1963, well worth a watch I would have thought,.....you never know it might be a taste of things to come good.gif

Have a lovely day and enjoy your snow, stay safe angel.gif

Just occasional snizzle round here, and it looks as if there was a slight thaw overnight. Freezing again now, though...

OK, looking at tomorrow and I've pinched a few charts from the NW Extra NMM suite and look how it builds in a totally different way from yesterday, Those that missed out in the last days should surely see lots tomorrow?

Getting heavier here, big flakes. Son of Blob forming in the Sea, this time it's all ours, Essex.

Yeah Braintree's got a few flakes falling now. Game almost certainly off tomorrow, so lay in and bacon sandwich instead.

Well as is typical, the snow now is heavier than anything we got here yesterday, which is inverse to the forecasts. Slightly too mild for any significant accumulations currently. However, it does show that where snow is concerned, you can only be sure what it will be when it is falling on your head.

Certainly unexpected this. Sorted my plan for tomorrow. Get up, light a fire, slow cook some Lamb for 7 hours, watch the snow. Perfect.

Still loads of snow all round, main roads seem ok and hoping for more tomorrow which looks like its coming mid morning. Have been following posts for last few years just never got around to posting much. But this winter is looking like it could turn out to be epic.

where does it track after that? seeing as i'm in mid/north Norfolk and wont get it until later on, does it stick with us for a bit as the BBC forecast suggests or move through quicklyy?

Bang on Coast, sitting on top of what`s here will make an interesting start to the week. Why is something white soo much fun and eye candy?
