I'm not putting my hopes up for tonight, any snow which does fall will be nice. Actually been having a slow thaw here with temperatures just above freezing.

Just caught the Beeb forecast, Sundays event looking to be much more extensive, covering england on a line from Portsmouth - Birmingham - Wrexham eastwards. Not sure if I want to disappoint myself by looking at charts now :)

Morning, yes my temperature has been on the rise and now stands dead on zero although the dew point is -2.3c so I think we may see some of the snow thawing today although hopefully not that fast. I notice that the met office are now showing sleet and snow right through to Wednesday where as yesterday they were talking about rain sleet and snow. It still looks cold with the easterly wind picking up.

About 10 - 15mm here overnight. Nothing compared to what some have seen so far but it settled and everything is covered so it looks like theres more than there is.

Morning all, a bit more snow fell overnight, currently 0C, DP -1.9C.

NAE for tomorrow:

http://expert-images...012100_1900.gif

Snow moving up from the south during the afternoon, no marginality involved. PPN accumilation ranging from about 5mm-14mm.

GFS does move the snow up a bit earlier than NAE:

http://91.121.16.5/m...36-574.GIF?19-0

http://91.121.16.5/m...42-574.GIF?19-0

http://91.121.16.5/m...45-574.GIF?19-0

Again, no marginality involved. PPN accumilation up to T+48:

Ranges from 6-11mm.

Thanks for your post.

A few quite experienced members were talking about it being marginal for snow on eastwards facing coasts. (based on the GFS).

Hopefully these charts show that is till be snow, but it may be a wait and see scenario.. again!.
