game over for Cumbria, still yet to see a dusting this winter.

Too coastal is Egremont - but you have the whole of the National Park on your doorstep.....! - try Wasdale- such a short drive - or a longish walk....

It's because these people in the South West of our region aren't used to snow, they get a couple hours of snowfall and they want a red alert from the Met Office and the army putting on standby.

Someone sounds upset...

It's your time now for sure so enjoy it.

However there will be many many more times the boot is on the other foot and we both know this. :)

Yes so please be pleased for us in the south of the region -many many many times have we been snowless or bypassed when others in the region get snow from the east or north- let us enjoy it while we can and 'celebrate' with us rather than complaining that you haven't got any !!.

No not at all, but when people are posting saying it's insane and the Met office must issue a red warning now for the region it's totally ott. Especially when they post a picture and its only a couple of inches at most.

But the event in the build-up did scream red warning potential. People have had every reason to get excited.

And it's far from over yet.

Hmm, I imagine if we get some clear skies the temperatures will be painfully low. Doubt we'll get any clear skies though.

Yes but a couple of inches in a town which doesn't usually get anything is very different to a more rural area where a couple of inches is the norm!-people here are not used to this kind of weather and, transport is quickly affected irrespective of the 'depth' of snow people are less prepared and haven't worked out how to get to work - many dont even have a pair of wellies!!!

And that warrants a red alert because you don't own a pair of Wellies lol

This kind of proves my point :)

Just take a look. As it's moving over the Mersey it's growing in intensity & expanding.
