There is no mild sector, however temps will rise during the day.

There look to be hefty showers following on behind as well, and Met Office website shows this continuing through the day. Many of these showers will be of snow but not all of them.

Well, about 2 inches here - nothing spectacular and as the temp is at +0.2c it's pretty wet, sticky snow, the type that tends to bring down branches and overhead cables. Still hoping for sub zero temps and a TRUE blizzard from a proper Channel Low one day. biggrin.png

met office radar is an hour behind real time !!

Meteox is only 15 mins behind:

The other link was a forecast "radar" which also includes the previous hour "actual"

Really!? Where in Swansea are you? I'm guessing your elevation has made a big difference

Stopped here for about 40 minutes. Cleared up but looks like it's closing in again. Round 2 maybe.

Got to drive to Bristol Hospital this afternoon. Hope we get there OK. Taking dogs just in case we cant get back

Bit of an adventure though

What is your location?

Upper Tumble, we are in the Llanelli postcode but our altitude is a lot higher :)

Don't get me wrong we've had a nice little fall out of this up here but I think the red warning was a little OTT.

Its stopped now and I can see the main roads being back open by 4pm if it keeps dry-ish

Yeah, I don't think the red warning was justified.

Warnings of towns and villages being cut off? It's a good snowfall, but I wouldn't call 6 inches exceptional.

I think there was sporadic heavy snowfall - some places got lots more than places very close by, I do agree that the red warning was very ott. I got 9 inches out of it and it's beautiful - but it's now stopped and not continuing all day as forecast.

No more for a few days - very little in way of melt though next few days..

Some people have reported falls of 20cm so I think the MetO did a pretty good job issuing the warnings for our area in the lower valleys. Im here in Ystrad Mynach, with not much elevation and we've had a good 6 inches or 15cm, with light snow still falling and blowing off roofs.

Heavy sleet in Pembroke since 8.30am- I'd be surprised if there's not a lot more snow east of here over the next few hours...

I'm hoping for the cold air to cut back west a bit this afternoon and turn what's fallin into 100% snow.

Our school's about half staffed, with teachers from the north and east of the county unable to get in...

coming down well again here now thicker flakes, looks like some hefty showers coming in as well hopefully on and off like this all day will do me, Not as good as 2010 and i would agree with jackone around 4-6 inches on ground with more in drifts hard to say exact because of the wind.
