Looks like the streamer keeps dying before it reaches us though :-(

The A10 a long stretch to Buntingford. A120 a better route. I will have a word.good.gif

Made my journey from Peterborough to Northampton this afternoon, a 50-55min journey took 2 and a quarter hours, absolutely crazy conditions between Raunds and Wellingborough on the A45. Left Northampton at about 8.20pm and it only took and hour and 10mins to get back, got to say the roads on the way home were superb, the gritters and the ploughs have really done a fantastic job this afternoon/evening.

Roll on Sunday....

Slight concern here in West Norfolk, the temperature has risen to -0.2, is it likely to rise any more as this happened Monday after snowfall and quite a bit melted 😕

Hi MK,

Really thought the country's gritters had done a great job on my experience today but obviously not! If that freezes overnight, it will be a nightmare in the morning,

Looks like that streamer could still pack a punch streaming in off the North Sea.

What a drive from Hampshire it was today! on the M3 it felt like I had barely any control over my car! Scary stuff !

This is well and truly Snowmageddon folks. It doesn't get better than this IMO, blizzards, the ultimate 'blob' which I saw it delivered thundersnow ! How epic! and all them nasty looking streamers that delivered to the NorthEast of the country for substitution of the front. What a turn around to this winter it has been. I kept telling people on the model output thread that some proper cold will come due the end of Jan. What can I say now! Should have stuck some money on it !

In the meantime, stay safe folks, and brace yourselves for round 2/3 on Sunday :)

Snow is like talcum powder outside!

The best kind of snow. Super dry and accumulates really quickly.

Often has a higher accumulation rate than the usual 1:10 rain to snow ratio. smile.png

Hi MK,

That is a main road, you should see some of the others they are much worse !

It's already -1.2 °C so it's going to be like an ice rink out there already, only good thing is no rush hour tomorrow...I think most people will stay in or just play in the snow rather than risk driving on it, be interesting if more snow goes on top Sunday though no one will be going anywhere in MK by Monday !

Anyway.....

New thread coming!

Please finish off any posts or hold off posting charts etc and I'll link new one shortly....

wonder if that giant blob over the channel and northern France will keep tracking North and make it to Norfolk

Yeah, hoping it peps up over the N Sea then turns Westward over Norfolk and Cambs.
