Monday is still quite far off, I wouldn't get to excited about Monday yet. The UKMO isn't good for our region, unlike the GFS. However, as we've seen this week, this is likely to change.

Tomorrow is looking good away from Devon & Cornwall. Should be upto 10cm widely, favoured locations seeing more.

Tomorrow great, Monday looking at the latest output would suggest to far north and rain. Could change tho.

Seriously though, this isn't going to bust again is it!!

I've been so confused trying to follow the model discussions and forecasts from various organisations...

It's too far now surely, the MO would look stupid if it didn't come off!!

Current thinking from the Met Office, with regard to this region.

South West England

Headline:

Windy with snow then rain spreading across the region.

This Evening and Tonight:

Persistent rain soon spreading into Cornwall this evening, this turning to snow as it continues eastwards overnight. Significant snowfall is likely in places with a risk of disruption. Cornwall and west Devon seeing rain again by dawn. Very windy. Minimum Temperature -4 °C.

Friday:

Windy with snow over many areas at first. Outbreaks of rain gradually spreading across the region through the day, although snow persisting in the north and east of the region. Maximum Temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Further rain, sleet and snow expected, although with some drier, brighter periods, especially on Sunday. Remaining cold with ice and frost affecting many areas, and with freezing fog possible.

Issued at: 1600 on Thu 17 Jan 2013

Variations in snow amounts already occuring with dustings in some places whereas others have either had nothing falling or just

odd flurries as has happened in Warminster most of the day.

Latest GFS is pointing to snow all the way out to Thursday with brief dry periods in - between. possibly even further out.

As ive said before, I would be shocked if this cold weather didnt last till Mid feb.

Oh dear it's not looking good for us Devonians according to the latest Met update. Think iM going to have to stay up all night to hopefully see some snow falling, sounds like heavy rain for us in the morning. I really hope it's a bit more SW than forecasted.

Yes worth remembering that tomorrow is in the highly likely category, whereas monday is in the possible if we are lucky category.

Using a 4-1 ratio for drifts, from now until monday night GFS give 30cm over the backbone of the SW with locally high amounts i am sure. meaning drifting easily to 1m+.

Meto not really playing ball for monday, but lets see after tomorrows pasting.

The log man called earlier to book Wednesday in for our next delivery. However, judging by the UKMO output, I reckon I'm going to struggle to get wood at any point late next week.

Mondays best chart for the Westcountry! Anything within the 0 contour is 100% snow.

Quite remarkable really that after tonights/tomorrows event we have the risk of even more snow, lush!
