Quite a non-specific forecast after Friday afternoon by the BBC. Very brief graphics shown for Saturday... Feel there's a lot of uncertainty hence the lack of detail.

East Kent showed barely anything... I'm in north Kent.

More poor amateur BBC forecasting, wish Ian F was a national/our regional forecaster. I genuinely think I could do a better job presenting a forecast than them

With the horseplay over and the pace of the thread slowing very slightly, I though it would be useful to re-post Steve Murr's snow scale from last February (hope that's OK, Steve) - it makes posting snow reports so much easier (eg, 'Level 4 here', etc):

Posted 04 February 2012 - 20:05

0- Nothing / Nada / just curtain dust + flies around the outside light

1- Odd pellet here & there- however we can mentally confirm there are 'flakes'

2- visible light snow falling- not visible to the lampost yet ( unless you stand underneath & obscure the light)

3- flurry level- makes light blue on the radar & a few flakes seen across the lampost

4- we can confirm snow falling without staring at the light- Can confirm to friends & loved ones its snowing via text etc

5- Status 2- moderate flurry, its fine snow at the moment still- it looks quite hard in terms of snow falling however its not amounting to anything

6- proper flakes falling- you will see them now- the odd flake mixed in with the moderate fine snow

7- transition to normal flakes all complete- moderate snow outside

8- 20p flakes going at a steady pace now- accumulating around 0.5cm - 1cm per hour

9- heavy 20p Snow - visibly accumulating + 1cm per hour

10- entry level heavy snow arriving- 50p flakes fluttering in the 20p flakes.. awaiting the beast...

11- 50p flakes nearly transitioned over- we can call it heavy settling snow 2cm ++ per hour

12- Very heavy snow inch per hour all 50p flakes

13- Blizzard- combined with +40 MPH wind-

Perhaps a re-post now and then would help.

Don't worry too much, the cold air will be there tomorrow and it's 12 hours from now we need to be thinking about!

What dewpoint have you got?

What time does the 12z usually roll out?

3.30 onwards

Really cant see the heavy stuff getting as far as Ashford, with the se winds it gets pushed away to our north before it gets here. We have missed the showers on the east kent coast and now to miss these as well, its just too much!

1.2c here and lovely sunny day - really not sure about the weekend and if we'll see that much in the way of snow, it appears the further west the better!

Temp 3.1 Dew -1.1, starting to drop, at least the incoming cloud to the west is blocking the sun now!

Getting a bit nervous about the temperatures currently being recorded I must say! Hoping though that as the wind picks up from a south east direction it pulls the cold continental air across. Otherwise, with today's temps.....Zikes.

I can see me wearing out the weather station batteries tomorrow toggling between temperature/dewpoint/temperature/dewpoint.

Note to self: must start behaving like responsible adult.
