Some sudden temp changes in the valley at home in east Devon associated with with the wind picking up from the direction of the sea then dieing out again:

OutsideTempHistory.gif

The dew point dropped a bit when the temp rose.

Currently at home 5.2C with 61% humidity and -1.7C dew point.

Here in Egham, mostly cloudy, frosty and dry.

-5C this morning, still at -3.5C now, should be another ice day. The snow cover has turned feathery thanks to the severe frost, and icicles have formed where the snow was thawing on Monday and Tuesday.

Dry and sunny this morning with a thick hoar frost on most surfaces, though a sheet of altocumulus is slowly advancing from the west. Temperature is a remarkable -3.2C, following a minimum of -5.3C (I think with my back garden being quite enclosed/sheltered it doesn't get as cold overnight as the likes of Topcliffe and Leeming- but the daytime temps are proving comparably low).

Still below zero here with a sheet of cloud now over me, T=-1.4C and Td=-2.4C, I wonder if I will make a second consecutive 'ice' day?

Last night was the coldest January night since 1982 here with a minimum temperature of -8.3C. In the last 33 years only two days in January and one day in February have seen lower minimas. Like the previous night it was all the more impressive as the skies were relatively cloudy with patches of thick fog.

It is currently cloudy but dry with the temperature just creeping up to 0.4C. Snowcover remains at around 6cm and 100% cover.

Not much change here since this morning, overcast with a few a few snowflakes floating around, the temperature maxed at 1c for a short time this afternoon.

For those interested I will be on Radio Derby again this evening doing another live interview regarding tomorrow’s snowfall, I will be on around 5:20pm :-)
